Or you can drink a big glass of water before you go to bed.  Best hangover cure is to not get one in the first place.

Ackchyually, it's for what's about to ail you.  And I'll believe it when I see a reputable scientific source outside of the maker confirming it.  I would think that if this really works, someone in the pharmaceutical industry would have thought of it by now.

That used to work pretty well for me. Now I'm old and my best bet is to not drink more than one or two units of alcohol in the first place.

"Trials revealed drinkers who swallowed two pills and drank two glasses of wine had 70 per cent less alcohol in their blood an hour later, compared to those who did not take it."

...so, let me get this straight: it prevents hangovers by making it take three times the amount of alcohol consumption to get you drunk? I feel like they didn't think this all the way through.

Vitamin B specifically.

Yeast pulls vit B out of fruits/grains as it ferments. If what you are drinking is filtered or distilled, there is no way to replenish the vit B that the alcohol will pull out of you.

Vit B and water, that's the key.

No, it claims to break down the alcohol in the blood after it makes you drunk but before it gets to your liver.

Which I find... dubious.

If it breaks down the alcohol intoyr gut before absorption does one still get drunk?

As mentioned, "the yellow pill" you want if you drink frequently certainly ISN'T going to be a benzo. OR a new "magic pill" making dubious promises (without explanation of a mechanism) that would let your blood alcohol get your brain drunk, but not your liver....

It's a B-complex vitamin!

And some water, caffeine, and an ibuprofen couldn't hurt.....

Medics say that those taking the pill will still get 'some jolliness' from alcohol if they take the pill.
But if they are planning to get drunk, it will take longer - forcing Britons to spend more on drinks.

So, the point of these pills isn't to get a hangover, it's to spend more time drinking on the way to getting one.I think we've hit peak British here.

FTFA :
Dehydration, low blood sugar - due to alcohol causing sugar to be lost in urine - and methanol, another fermentation product found in alcoholic drinks, also contribute to feeling unwell after drinking too much.

And it won't do jack about any of them

Anuran? HOW MANY Americans

do you think can stomach "a spoonful of Vegemite" -with some water and caffeine and all, EXIST?

Honestly, it DOES sound like a good combo of fats and salts and carbs and B-vitamins for a hangover. IF you put it on toast with butter.....

But don't people need to build up kinda a TASTE TOLERANCE to that stuff for a good chunk of life?

🤔

B-vitamin pills are usually EASIER....

One, anyway. But yeah, with some sort of bland carb.
