Used to be, the first thing I thought of when I heard "Los Angeles Angels" was "Poor Mike Trout".

Now, though?

"Poor Mike Trout AND Shohei Otani"

Not impressed.  Call me when one pitcher does that, and not a squadron of pitchers.

Yeah, it's a shame those 2 amazing players are on such a shiat team. Would love to see them in the playoffs.

I'm sure that they're not happy about this in the league office either.  Two of the most exciting players in the game -- including probably the most exciting -- are buried on team with zero chance of playing at the only time that most people watch baseball, the playoffs.

cut the angels some slack, they are using an interim interim interim manager after their interim interim manager and interim manager were both suspended

Only happened four times in the history of the game, so it might be awhile. And since no one goes longer than 6 innings or 95 pitches, awhile will be never again.

Trout struck out seven straight times in the first two games.

On the list of stuff I never expected to read.

I don't think manager who just got fired is throwing a party because they had a bad game, but uh, okay I guess.

Peter von Nostrand: Why would he be laughing, he contributed to their shiattines?

Because he's a month removed from contributing to their shiattiness? And unless he's the GM responsible for building the team, he's no longer responsible for the on-field product.

/it wouldn't surprise me if he was managing the White Sox next season
//it would surprise me even less if LaRussa was still managing the White Sox next season

Last year, the only Angels minor league affiliates with a winning record were in the rookie leagues.  In 2019, every affiliate was under .500.  In 2018, only their AAA team and one rookie league team were above that mark.

This team couldn't do any better if they called up Charlie Sheen and Wesley Snipes.

There might be a tiny bit of concern -- but as long as the merch money is flowing, New York probably doesn't care that much.

Laughing that he keeps getting hired at huge contracts, maybe. He's long been overrated as a manager. He's like Mike leach. Decent coach that's kind of quirky but the media loves him for some reason

Dead for Tax Reasons: cut the angels some slack, they are using an interim interim interim manager after their interim interim manager and interim manager were both suspended

How hard can the job really be?  Tell players to hit the ball and run the bases, and then not let the other team hit the ball and run the bases.

Oh, I don't doubt that he's overrated as a manager. I watched the Cubs win the World Series in spite of his curious calls regarding the bullpen. That's why I think the Sox will make a play for him if LaRussa somehow gets let go.

Their AA team qualified for the playoffs this season, first time since 2017 for any team in the organization. The organization has been terrible at drafting and developing players for a long time and combine that with the many high priced mistakes and you get the Angels.

I prefer four-man rotations and going the friggin' distance.  And letting pitchers hit.

"Trout struck out seven straight times in the first two games. In the finale, the three-time AL MVP reached base in his first at-bat on an error by Pena at shortstop before striking out looking in his next two plate appearances."

He'll make up for all of that by hitting 47 home runs vs the Mariners next time they play. They have a double header coming up which should take care of half of that.

Maybe the Angels can add another $20M/ year player to their roster to get them over the hump.  The combined $120M this year to Trout/ Rendon/ Syndergaard/ Upton is clearly not doing it.

Three men would like to say you're wrong.  Four if you count Randy Johnson striking out 20 in the first nine innings of an extra inning game.  One if you count the guy who struck out 21 in a 16-inning game.
