From when and about how much did you pay?  I have a tub full from the early 2000's

Got rained on twice while playing Pokemon Go, shot a whole roll (20ish exposures) of Kodak Imagelink microfilm loaded into a 110 cartridge in a Pentax Auto 110, started some (hopefully) pulled pork in the instant pot, and I have 13 pounds of stupid cat in my lap.

Not a bad day.

Spent all day trying to kill bamboo in the backyard and it kicked my ass.

Beer me.

Kids still play with Hot Wheels?

Don't they just play with the Hot Wheels app on their phone?

Oh, and I worked today.

I finished packing everything that I don't use every day, and staged the stuff that I do use every day, to be able to plop the boxes for the movers on Tuesday. Then I sat down and watched Stranger Things. All in all, not a bad day.

Sure subby, just brag it up. That's very cool though. Good job.

Me: Home Depot run for a bunch of electrical this and that for home repairs. Unpacked some boxes. Made reservations for a 5-6 week road trip. Moved my game camera. Installed flag pole bracket on garage.

Woke up and realized I'd had ten beers the night before.

Tell me you are over 40 without saying you are over forty.

My old man retired last year. He decided his big thing is to "do one thing every day" so he doesn't get stuck in a rut of just watching TV and sitting on the couch.

Doing some online shopping is the kind of thing he would get all proud of himself for. "I did something today!"

I guess what I'm saying subby is that clicking a few buttons on Ebay isn't exactly worth bragging about.

Around 66¢ per car.  Oldest packaging is the mid to late nineties, newest is 2004.  Sellers were clearing an estate of a guy that had gotten injured on the job and was stuck on disability, he'd started collecting as a hobby that didn't require much more than going shopping.

Seller was happy for them to go so cheap specifically because we were buying the whole lot without asking for anything more than a rough count, didn't care about duplicates, weren't asking for them to check if any specific models, and because they're going to go to kids to be played with.

We're going to get somewhere in the range of 30 to 40 sets for gift giving, depending on how many we choose to put into a gift bag.  We realized that wine gift bags are basically perfect if they don't have drinking imagery on them, but unfortunately the bags we saw online at Total Wine and More weren't actually a three-pack, the web listing was showing three possible colors for $2.99 each rather than three bag for $2.99.  So looks like it'll be an Amazon order for bags.

There are a few that I want to keep for myelf or for our kiddo, even a handful that I might even leave in the packaging, but of what we bought, the overwhelming majority will be given away.  I spent quite a bit of time sorting them based on how real they were and if there were duplicates, the idea is for all of the gift bags to have as consistent a mix of types as possible, with no duplicates in a single bag.

A picture.  It doesn't show the depths of the stacks in each row too well though:

For prior gifts we'd been buying them at a used books/music/movies store that has a toy section, largely the unsold merchandise pulled from first-choice retailers that this store got cheap, at around $1.50 a car.  For five year olds five cars was fine and $7.50 was fine, but now we can give more cars per giftbag for the same money, basically double, or half-again a many cars for less than we'd been spending.

It wasn't ebay.  We *gasp* drove over and actually picked up the cars from the sellers, and while loading discussed the nature of collecting versus playing with toys, etc.

Mrs. Plows and I worked on the Starry Night Lego set for almost two hours. The colors below gave our old eyes trouble & we had to tear down & rebuild a few times.

They look very similar IRL & on the paper instructions, but both sets of colors appear very different on the PDF. I guess we'll be working from the PDF in the future. That'll only solve half of our problem since they're still similar colors in our crap indoor lighting.

Putting this set together a 2nd time (When the pieces aren't sorted into numbered bags) would be a nightmare. There are so many slightly different shades of blue and green.

Eww, real life contact with actual people? And you call yourself a Farker!

Assumptions and uninformed snarkiness aside, looks like you came away with a haul. From what I can make out from the pictures, quite a few I remember from my own childhood.

Though it does raise the question - did anyone actually want the blimp? How do you play with that along with the rest of the cars? For some reason I had two (a Fujifilm one comes to mind) and as far as I remember they only flew overhead during my homebrew Nascar/Indycar races. If I got one as a gift I'd be a little miffed!

I spent hundreds of dollars and hours of time promoting and glorifying the consumption of fossil fuels to children.

I like looking for the early to mid 90's Honda Hot wheels. I have both of the white EF chassis hatchbacks, and a red CRX as well as a Honda City Turbo 2 from the 80s.

My five year old likes the blimp so we might keep that one for her.  There was also a plane that looks superficially enough like the cropduster from Planes that she got that one right then and there, tearing the package open with blissful abandon as soon as we got back into the car.

For her birthday last week we'd gotten her this:

media-amazon.comView Full Size

Thing is almost as tall as she is, and she's TALL for five.  It stores 100 1:64 scale cars, and seems to work with most of the Hot Wheels and pre-Mattel Matchbox cars, though with a few of my old cars that we'd given her not fitting from both those brands and some others.  The cars that weren't my childhood toys work better because their axles aren't bent and the plastic wheels aren't gritted-up at the axles, but many of the old toys do work reasonably well.  I had a partial Dukes of Hazzard set with a Boss Hogg Cadillac and a Hazzard County police car from Ertl and they work OK, and the one 1:64 Revell seems good too.

Between my old cars, the cars I'd gotten later and not played with, and now the new ones she's gotten she probably has 30 or so.  I tend to like the more realistic designs or ones based on real production cars more than the fanciful ones, but those seem popular these days.  With Mattel owning Matchbox now in addition to Hot Wheels they seem to be producing realistic examples under the Matchbox brand and the outlandish ones as Hot Wheels, but there are plenty of counter-examples going both ways.

Either way she played with the set for over four hours on her birthday and is still returning her attention to it each day for quite a bit of the day, so it seems to be a hit, and adding cars to her collection is inexpensive, and can be a nice treat from time to time even away from a normal birthday or Christmas time.

Me and the family went to the crowded fair on base.  It was way too hot and too many people for my liking.  So we stayed for a bit, ate some food and left. Then me and the mrs. went to the wine fest in town and met up with some friends. Another good day in Deutschland.

I have been eying that set. Now I will have to think a bit on it.

Liked the map too but it looks brutally heavy for the wall.

I finished a jigsaw puzzle depicting famous first lines from literature. They used different fonts, colors, and sizes, otherwise it might have been more difficult.
