That was my first thought going through the pics. You are basically running a small business just for upkeep.

Was that supposed to be Star Wars? Looks like the same random crap they use as theme decor at the "sci-fi" dispensary up the street.

Whichever kid got the lame "arts and crafts" room got completely screwed over. There are hundreds of thousands of dollars in therapy sessions in his/her future.

This is the second one of these on Fark in a number of days.  I'm starting to think that basic developers built a number of these for the wealthy, tacky, neuvo-riche.  All the houses had the same bog standard What We Think Rich Looks Like, plus a Disney theater room.

The opulence makes it feel like it should be an overpriced hotel instead of a place to raise children.

$15,000,000 for a house that's subject to a homeowner's association's tyranny and the $4,000 a year they charge for new boots to keep on your neck? And the property taxes are $55,000 a year?

Tongue kiss my entire ass. Even if I was filthy rich I wouldn't be that stupid.

Or you could have this place, in the same neighborhood, for only $10 million more.

I lost the remote in my 15x25 living room for hours this weekend. If I lived in this house, I'd just wander around the house constantly, like a dementia patient, always looking for my keys, phone, book, drink, purse, shoes, jacket and cat

I like this one, but like so many of these places they paved too much. I've seen worse though. There is some lawn at least. I don't know why they want a street cutting across their front lawn although it is very nice pavement and must have cost at least as much as many poorer people's houses.

But the first thing I would do would be to get rid of the tennis court. Get your chauffeur to drive you to the country club which I'm sure you're a member of if you built this house. Don't ruin it by making your home into a country club.

(that's a country club, not someone's home)

I'd replace all the castle and Star Wars with LEGO and Hot Wheels with lots of track so they could just run constantly all over the house too - through a city made of LEGO with some trains. I also think it's okay to mix scales if it's done tastefully.

I think this might be the one room I wouldn't change because I want to bathe in something like this just to see what it's like: Or is that a hot tub rather than a bathing tub? I don't care, I'll find out soon enough with 5 close friends and a bunch of bubble bath - maybe some bath salts too.

Thankfully if you could afford this house you could act just like a dementia patient. You would just shout out for "the help" and they would bring you whatever you need.

All things considered, that is a beautiful, rather tastefully-done place.  The Star Wars playroom had a lot of stuff that looked like it was hand-made rather than bought, and it's not just all black trim and white marble.  There's some warm tones, some wood, some good color splashes to break up the marble.  It's grand and wasteful, but at least it's not a monstrosity.

I think the left side is a dry sauna, and the right side is a steam room...With the hot tub in the middle..

if you buy a house like that, it should come with 1 of each of the princess dresses, fitted.

Oh, my heart! I'd buy it only if they left ALL the plants! There are way too many carved pillars, but I could get Devil's Ivy climbing up those pretty easily. I mean, if I could afford it, which I can't. I always tell people that my goal is to have so many plants in the house you need to chop a path with a machete to get to another room. I like growing things.  :P

Between everything being white and sterile, and and the uhhh... transporter room linked above, it looks like an Orokin structure you'd deploy a warframe to fight in. Oh... never mind, it's already deployed.

Modern version of Beverly Hillbillies with John Cena as the backwoods hillbilly who invested his moonshine money in crypto and then cashed out with $100 million. Paul Heyman as the president of the small Orlando bank that has his money.

I feel that this house and those like it have been built not to be lived in but to be admired, like an art piece, a toy to show off to your friends, not a place to raise a family.

No, that castle is cool. I mean, I wouldn't have room for it, but if I had, I'd have done it for my daughter. One of my cousin's neighbors has something similar, but it's a tree house. It's got like a 3 foot door. It's very cool.
But Jesus, that's a lot of pictures of the same features, just from slightly different angles. I think we saw the elevations a dozen times and the hallway half a dozen.

That's a measly $60k/yr to keep the poors away (unless they're the help).

Look at the price history. Something is very fishy...
When the housing recession hit in 2008, price went up?
Then as things got better, the price came down?
And now, price is sky high again?

Although, if it was at the same price in 2018, I could see a group of people going in to buy it as a private timeshare place type thing.

Last one was a Boomer Doctor about to turn 80 so probably needs funds for assisted living.

This one is Gen-X selling cancer vapes to millennials and Gen-Z.
