Good thing TFG isn't too hung-up on ratings.  Otherwise, this might upset him.

Less than 2M watched on Fox News which means it won't affect them at all.

I'm wondering if it would have made a difference if they carried the testimony or if their regular viewers would have switched off and turned on OAN.

I'm gonna guess he is filled with rage and hate 24/7 and lashes out at anyone who even says a word to him.
Which is basically how he's been since the 80's when a reporter told everyone he has tiny hands.

I think he'd be eating this up since he is the center of attention in the hearings.

/ eating it up with lots of ketchup

Good for ratings.

Remember, though, she still worked for Ted Cruz and then Trump if her own volition.

She's still human garbage who did the right thing once, either due to a deal with the feds to overlook a crime she committed or out of pettiness for not being higher up on the chain.

They did carry it live, and apparently many of their viewers did switch it off which accounts for their low ratings.

It actually made me smile just a little bit hearing stories about how Drumpf gets angry, throws fits, throws food, tries to choke SS agents, and all the rest.

Because outside of everything else we already know, it shows him to truly be a spoiled, entitled manbaby.  And part of the reason he is getting so angry now is because it is THAT part of his personality that is really being shown right now.

We know how much he hates to look weak.  And this is all making him look VERY weak.

It's a good thing conservatives weren't so invested in telling us how no one was watching this otherwise they would look like real idiots. Again.

But if you add up all the people in the world who didn't watch the hearings, then he wins.

Seriously though, it wouldn't surprise me if he announces his 2024 candidacy when the next live hearing is on just to try and claim a ratings win.

He could easily get even more ratings by testifying under oath himself.  Hell, I'd pay cash money to watch that for an afternoon.

I would think that you have to be very strong to physically take on your entire secret service team. Can you imagine Biden doing that?

It's the same as with Cheney, right now.  There is a tendency to like people who say what we want to hear, even if we shouldn't.

Ironically, that's what creates so much support for the liars in the GOP, generally.

No. I can't imagine Biden trying to attack the people who's job it is to protect him.

No.  Back in the 80's, Spy magazine coined the term "short-fingered vulgarian" when referring to Trump.

No 'small hands.' No reporter.

True. But I think one of the smartest decisions the Jan 6 committee made was to make so much of their case using the testimony of Republicans such as Cassidy, because it helps defuse the perception that the investigation is purely partisan in nature.

Heh, rightwing nutjob talking heads have been saying that nobody is watching the hearings, it's boring, snoozefest, people just don't care, waste of time...

Could they have been lying about that?  Aren't they proud of all those brave Republicans coming forward to explain how Donnie is innocent and it was all an ANTIFA false flag?

Seriously, if you told him his testimony would easily be the single most watched event across the whole world in the history of television and would be a record that would never be beaten, and then you put the cherry on top by throwing a number out there - "probably more than 3 billion people would see you, sir!".  That would work.

Graydon Carter was the writer for Spy who coined the phase "short-fingered vulgarian".  Later, he would move on to be the editor of Vanity Fair.  And until Carter retired as editor of Vanity Fair more than 25 years later, Trump would occasionally send Carter pictures of his hands, with his Sharpie scrawlings on them, trying to "prove" he doesn't have tiny little hands.

I cannot imagine how anyone looks at Donald Trump and sees someone who should be in any sort of position of authority over anyone.

how much you want to bet she wasn't an unscheduled witness at all?  It was something the committee intended to do, but they sold it to our shiat media as a 'surprise' to boost ratings.

She was literally just repeating what she had said on tape. It worked either way.

He put it on full display for five years prior to 1/6. No one who pays attention was surprised to learn any of it.

But I did get some good hearty lols at witnessing it get entered into congressional record on live tv.

Maybe like a gangster who seeks redemption, she had a moment of self correcting terror and wanted to change her way before she was in too deep. I'm not religious, but horrible people can have redemption... Except for Trump or Ted, they crossed over that event horizon long ago. There's no hell, but may they be miserable till the end.

There are reports that Murdoch is pushing Fox News to pump up DeSantis for President and to start downplaying Trump.  It'll be interesting to see if the viewers let him do that.

In typical Trump fashion what upset and obsessed him was the 'short fingered' bit, not the 'vulgarian'.
