I used to believe that.  I recently watched Jon Stewart sucking up to the Race2Dinner grifter.

several benign and widespread traits are actually characteristic of white supremacy. Among these are preferring quantity over quality, wanting things to be written down, perfectionism, becoming defensive, and yes, possessing a sense of urgency.

Given how well Jon Stewart is doing away from TDS, I think it's his writers that were the smart ones.

Smart people know the difference between Reason and reality.  Not saying the article is bullshiat, but it is from Reason, so there's a good chance.

Everybody involved in this article (especially Reason) is a hopeless idiot.

Everything is white supremacy if you're looking hard enough as a well-paid, white sh*t-disturber seeking to call every other white person a racist.

Those darn Chinese and Sumerians must have invented writing to oppress themselves.

2022-07-03 7:44:56 AM
Sounds like yet more bullshiat that racists convince themselves that the rest of us believe, thus justifying their behavior retroactively.

"I wouldn't have to be such a racist if you didn't come up with such stupid rules in my imagination"

It's a weird statement, but it's also one academic writing one email. Does it merit an entire outrage article? Someone's scrambling for column inches.

That's what I read as well.

Literacy, diligence, punctuality, and accountability are all manifestations of white supremacy.

There. There is this "anti-racist educator's" entire programme. Now pay me.

Exactly.  There have always been wackaloons of all every political persuasion.  The key difference is that the left doesn't nominate theirs to policy making positions.

Still, how do people write things like this down and don't think people are going to call them out for being a dumbass?  Do they really believe these sorts of things?  We don't need people out there to actually be real world right wing stereotypes of what progressives think and say.

Yep. That's why clowns like this need to be ruthlessly shown for what they are, before they do further damage and enable actual white supremacists to dismiss all critics of them as people like the grifter in TFA.

There is no shortage of genuine white supremacy in the US right now.

"sense of urgency
• continued sense of urgency that makes it difficult to take time to be inclusive, encourage democratic and/or thoughtful decision-making, to think long-term, to consider consequences
• frequently results in sacrificing potential allies for quick or highly visible results, for example sacrificing interests of communities of color in order to win victories for white people (seen as default or norm community)
• reinforced by funding proposals which promise too much work for too little money and by funders who expect too much for too little

antidotes: realistic workplans; leadership which understands that things take longer than anyone expects; discuss and plan for what it means to set goals of inclusivity and diversity, particularly in terms of time; learn from past experience how long things take; write realistic funding proposals with realistic time frames; be clear about how you will make good decisions in an atmosphere of urgency; realize that rushing decisions takes more time in the long run because inevitably people who didn't get a chance to voice their thoughts and feelings will at best resent and at worst undermine the decision because they were left unheard"

Here's what I've noticed;

Systemic racism in the US has placed mostly white people is positions of power. So now you have people who look at any exercise of power as examples of racism.

Its true that the boss (in this country) is often white, we're trying to fix that, and it doesn't make being the boss inherently racist.

Now in theory, if you could eliminate all hierarchies in our society, so that no one has power over anyone else, that would usher in total equality and perhaps even equity, but it would also be chaos and anarchy.

I don't see how our society can function without hierarchies.

Our goal obviously is to have every level of our hierarchies reflect the racial mix of our society.  But currently we have way too many white people with way too much money and power and they don't want to give it up. Not for racist reasons (mostly, sometimes yes) but just for money and power reasons.

But that mean that power is racist.

This is one of things that I always find surprising about Conservatives, and those that hold these unpopular, alt-right beliefs:  They KNOW that they are wrong.

But rather than alter their thought process, figure out why they are wrong, and determine to make some changes, they find ways to make it look like EVERYONE thinks like that.  They will come up with all manner of reasoning to say, "See?  You're bad too."

In this case if you KNOW that being a white supremacist is bad, and it is a bad way of thinking, then here's an idea...  Stop being a white supremacist.  Don't tell the rest of us that we are too, and therefore you are justified.
I mean, you KNOW it's wrong.  Otherwise you wouldn't be finding so many ways to make it look like it's not.

Ah, it's the quarterly "hairy Oberlin sophomore  throws fit about cafeteria bahn mi that's actually a baloney sandwich in disguise so we get to take away abortion access" article. Thank God. Now onto the Sunday NYT magazine puff piece about the former Princeton professor with a taste for bosomey undergrads, and his "contrarian" former student wife who drops Trumpian bon mots  as part of her campaign to be considered a Very Serious Public Intellectual.

That seems very reasonable actually. Which leads to the question of, was the origional response to questions so badly worded as to lead to a complete misunderstanding of the core ideas or did the writer of the article purposely choose to word it in such a way as to give people the worst opinion of what is being discussed?

Then according to modern race theory, yes, you're a white supremacist lite by engaging in and promoting "whiteness".

And remember that any time someone starts talking about dismantling "whiteness" in America, that they're talking about de-mainstreaming the traits summarized in that graphic.
