That scene was metal as fark.  And I'm not generally a Metallica fan.

I just hope it's not a long wait until Season 5.  This one was soooo good.

The ending was farking anticlimactic. After all that buildup in the first half of S4... weak.

My boyfriend is an idiot who likes to spoil himself before watching shiat with me because he likes to feel superior by "knowing things that I don't". He kept saying, "Hey, Weatherkiss. Wanna know who dies?" throughout the show.

I noticed that in past seasons, if they're getting ready to kill someone off at the end, they tend to focus on that character moreso than the others, in an effort to wrap up their character arc before they get killed off. Using that perspective, I figured that Max was going to get killed considering just how much time this season was spent on her.

The one that surprised me was Eddie. This was a character that was introduced at the beginning of the season, and while I loved the character, I just wasn't invested in him (because I hadn't been exposed to him long enough) enough to really care that he got killed. I figured he'd stick around for the next season before getting killed off.

Brenner's death was expected. Once he got Eleven her powers back, his usefulness as a character was done and over with, and the only thing he had left was to die in an attempt to redeem himself.

That being said, it's interesting where Max is now. Some kind of coma? I'm anticipating that next season she's possessed by Vecna who is trying to pretend to be Max but drops several hints that Max is suppressed/hidden somewhere deep inside her mind.

I'm also expecting the next (and final) season of Stranger Things to be a bloodbath since the series is ending and the Duffer Brothers are going to start killing off main characters for one last stand against Vecna.

They said they were talking about spin-offs, but I'm not really sure who would make a good spin-off series. The only character that I think has what it takes to star in his own show is Hopper. I anticipate Eleven is going to die next season and Hopper goes off to try to save someone else like Eleven as a coping mechanism.

Do they foreshadow that only the little sister is going to live in the D&D game?  She throws the critical hit and kills Vecna after the rest of the party falls.

Loved it. Those kids can act their faces off. Eddie my bruh. I cried ugly over that one. The episode before this one and this one were just filled with some great emotional scenes. Will and Mike wow. Heartbreaking. Every one of the team deserves an emmy.

The beginning of the season felt a bit disjointed as I thought the way they told the story of three separate groups was handled clumsily. It was all put together really well by the end.

I'm just glad Jason got what was coming to him. That farking prick has needed a beatdown since day one. I would have preferred seeing his limbs turned into pretzels by Vecna, though.

How did the film the new scenes with El as a child?

She's got some big boobies now, and the director wanted to make sure you noticed.

Am I the creepy one?  Maybe, but I'm not the person who put her in a skin tight shirt floating on her back.

CGI. Max as a child was a real child actress lookalike but uncredited, at least that's the speculation

I hope the Duffers have written the scripts for S5 already. I'm not really ok with waiting 2-3 years for the last season. The main characters will be 30 if they haven't finished the scripts yet.
The actress that plays Max is amazingly talented.

2022-07-03 8:03:46 AM
 - The California group plot was easily the weakest of the four
- Hopper's screen time in Russia probably could have been trimmed down a good bit, but it wasn't bad.
- This season (especially Part 2) went hard into just being Empire Strikes Back.  11 lifting Nina like an X-Wing, "My friends need me" "You're not ready", "I've got a bad feeling about this", Max effectively frozen in carbonite, a generally downer ending.

The scripts are done.  They usually wouldn't have, but Covid delay meant they got everything plotted out for two years this time instead of just the current season.  I really hope they start shooting soon and get it out within a year.

Yeah, that was a bit weird.  There was an initial thought of "whoa, where did those come from" when she got ready to get into the tank.  Then the following scenes, I'm just thinking "they really couldn't be bothered to have her change shirts for a couple days, or throw something on top of her?  We're just going to ride this season out with a form-fitting outfit?  Fine, whatever."  According to the actress, she's well aware of the creepy online "when does such-and-such actress turn 18" and associated discussion.  I don't think that costume choice is going to make things any less creepy online.

The stuff she was wearing didn't get translucent or any clingier wet so I thought it was fine. Of course, if there was a bunch of fighting behind the scenes between her and her management vs a costume designer/director that wanted something sexier that would be sick. Though I'm pretty sure she's an adult now anyway.

18 (although she was probably 17 when she shot the footage), and very much not like her character.

would have been better had they written more than 7 episodes worth of Story that they padded out way to long.
( seriously...they dragged out Elevens flashbacks for 3-4 episodes...could have told all that exposition  in one episode and moved the story sooner, and made it more believable. every time they showed the same shiat over and over I fast forwarded.

I love how the kids drive from California, to Nevada, to Indiana, taking at least 3-4 days, wearing the same clothes, and they don't bother changing clothes or showing once they get to Hawkins... they are still wearing the same clothes through the end of the last episode, even while fixing up the cabin.

In 5 episodes from this season they credited a girl named Marti Blair as "Young Eleven". My guess is they're digitally putting Millie Bobby's face on her head, and maybe shot enough scenes with her to cover this episode without another screen credit. Maybe they were the same flashbacks we've seen before?

Lots of shows do this. You know some minor character is going to die by the end of the episode because all of a sudden they get some character growth. I'm sure there's a trope name for it.

Damn right it was!  Although I never knew it was Atlantean, I just called everything in that universe "Hyperborean," or "antediluvian," because I vaguely recall it being the pre historical period after the ice age, before the sea filled came back and covered all these additional land areas and bridges. Like I assumed we started Conan in Eastern Europe and then walked down across a dry Mediterranean Sea bed to the Middle East, between Egypt and Arabia

Eddie was pretty easy to get out of a murder rap. Move the trial out of Hawkins. There is no actual evidence that Eddie was guilty of murder. The only thing people have is the first murder happened in the trailer he lives in. There is nothing tying him to the second murder at all. The primary witness against him is dead. Then you have to explain how Eddie killed them. Magic powers from Satan isn't going to pass the muster in a trial. All Eddie's lawyer has to do is pull out the Kreel house murders that have the exact same MO and ask the question where is Henry Kreel?

The government will be more then happy to make up fake Henry Kreel file to close this up real quick. Now everyone in Hawkins will still think Eddie did it, and he will be a town Pariah.

I was about to ask. I didn't rewatch the season. Was the sword referenced previously? Scene kicked all kinds of ass, but when Hopper picked it up, it seemed random.

As an aside, the new Hellboy was disappointing. Preparation for the role did give David Harbour a beast of a physique.

It took Lynch seven episodes just to get to anything meaningful in season three of Twin Peaks.  And that was the week we decided not to have a thread.  Then the mindfark that was episode eight.

But I very loudly screamed out, "DAMMIT!!!," at the conclusion of this season.  I just couldn't post it.  Anything I'd have posted, as I typed it out, would've spoiled it, including the ending song.

I had to check the clock after the end of the big fight. "How the hell is there still half an hour left?  Is this Return of the King?".

I'm happy with the episode, but they probably could have edited the last episode down a bit or even break it into two episodes itself.

Way too long, hopefully next year they realize you don't have to use all the footage you shoot.  And Robert Downey Junior's kid was great but totally underutilized the whole season.  The stoner wasn't all that funny and could have just been excised from the entire season.  The same could be said for the 4 foot tall, 30 year old captain of the basketball team.  He showed up in the finale and I had totally forgotten about him and couldn't remember what he was even doing at that point.

I'm not seeing it.  Everybody grabbed polearms, spears, or axes, and this is what's left.  There's a couple things back there that could be swords, but none with that distinct blade shape.
