Folks, the idol is primed and ready to take out PT.  Without objection, so ordered.

honestly - maybe a few fistfights is what this series needs. the racing's great and maybe Waltrip or even Deegan throwing a punch or two will get more people watching it

And then NASCAR will advocate violence with the cars in order to get a ratings pop.  Or at least would've when Braindead France was in charge.

First heat wasn't much movement in the field.  Hopefully as the track gets rubbered in it will be better later.

Didn't think I'd be able to watch it but lo and behold, the FIOS tv app came through.  Just in time to watch Willow drink some water

just tried the CBS sports app. had to sign up for it, then to watch anything live you have to sign in with you cable provider credent. no problem - have Comcast - try to sign in and get "this content is not available. sign up for Paramount+ to watch".

at least back in the days of analog TV you could pick up the CBS affiliate around here. I watched the Stadium Super Trucks series on YouTube live this afternoon - no issues, but because WYOU-TV can't provide a decent signal to the DMA - bastards.  screw it - have it on the DVR. when I wake up and more sober, I'll try to watch it after the British GP

A bit after it aired, but the little retrospective on Riverside (MA) speedway (Now Six Flag New England) was cool. It was a really neat funky track with a bit more bank at the top. If rubbered in it had about 1 1/2 grooves on the bottom, but if it rained and the track was green, those that had their car set up for it and were daring enough to run the top were very fast.

My father worked on a Busch Grand National North team in the mid-late 90s. It was a true small team, family run. The crew chief was the younger brother to the driver and the lead engineer was the older brother. The driver did most of the engine work and that's where my dad met him, at the local engine machine shop where he was working on his own race car engine. One of the engine's my father had for his own race car he lent to the Busch team, and they put the car on the pole at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with a qualifying record, won the race green flag to checkered, and then promptly blew it up in the practice for the following race. NHMS at the time was a horsepower track that had decent racing and not the weird flat aero track that is boring now.

For a few years when they ran Riverside, my dad would bring my brother and I, give us $20 each, and tell us to meet him in the pits after the race. Totally free to run amok in the park from 8 AM to 6 or 7 PM. It was awesome. No one once ever asked us who we were with, we just did what we wanted. We would go to the gate for the race and said our parents were already inside and they let us in free. One of the years they won. By the time we managed to wiggle our way into the pits to the hauler half the team was drunk. My father wasn't because he had to drive all three of us home, but that was the first and only time in my life I've been sprayed with Champaignsparkling wine.

Riverside was fun. It has a special place in my heart for those few magical days.

We didn't need artificial drama, we had it on the track damn it.

Andretti drove a great race until he got bumped out.  It was late, no give, all take so nothing really unexpected.

Don't blame CBS, Smoke and Ray Everham created these races and the rules.

Good short track racing. Protect your tires until you need them.

I can guarantee you the mandated cautions was something CBS asked for.

It was a good overall event, leader didn't run away with it.  Constant swapping, relatively clean, which Stewart has to appreciate to avoid the rebuilds

they've been doing the "screw it - bunch 'em back up" cautions since the series started

/it's a made for TV event. I'm fine with that
