(CBS News)   Steven Tyler's rehab is going so well he paid a visit to his local police station. Fark: It was a social call, not business. With "totally not a mugshot" photo goodness   ( divider line

The 74-year-old dropped by the police station in Marshfield, where he has lived, and posed for a photo behind Chief Phillip Tavares' desk.

He lives in the Police Station?

ReapTheChaos: Damn, 74 years old and still struggling with addiction. Drugs, never once.

At 74, I'm sure he struggles with erections too but I don't hear him swearing off sex.

The older you get, the more you fear death, but it's gonna happen no matter what you do. I'd rather it be quick, preferably from drugs.

I've watched cancer eat people up. Fark that noise, gimme the dope. Steve is backwards. Do drugs when you're OLD.

My dad (RIP ) and i used to jam out to Aerosmith and Styx and Ozzy whenever we would go on out of town trips.  So I'm smiling a little bit that a piece of my childhood is getting sober and I'm not reading about a drug fueled death.

I'm guessing he was going stir crazy in rehab and negotiated one place he couldn't get drugs or booze.

If you watch enough Steven from the 80s and 90s when he had been clean and most talkative you get the vibe he's the archetype addictive personality.  One's too many but there's never enough. So not endorsing drugs but no matter where he went in life he was going to have problems whether it was minimum wage getting wasted on crappy booze or his estimated $5M worth of drugs he did in his prime (which would be about $30-$35M in today's money).

As someone who's battled addiction, you are spot on.

/clean for....don't know
//never kept count of days as I felt it was a trigger
///I know it's been 4ish years or so
////extra slashey for sobriety

Stay good Dude. It gets better and you get stronger. You'll be surprised

Thanks, buddy. I figured that out quickly. It's the convincing that takes time. I found Legos helped me out. Now my problem is I'm running out of space to display them. Ah, who am I kidding?  I'm now just letting my inner kid come out.

Get into Arrma RC cars, it's the best adult toy I can think of that is money well spent personnally as well as socially.

All the adult men on my cul de sac watch me run it around, which is pretty amazing.

Oooo!  Now, that sound you hear is my SO's eyes rolling really hard. She knows what kind of "trouble" I could get into with that.

/off to teh googles
