Hogan is almost not an asshole. I disagree with him on some issues, but he's one of the last non-derpy GOP figures.

The rest are all somewhere between major asshole and even worse than Trump.  DeSantis is like Trump but smarter and motivated by malice, not personal enrichment.

lol at the idea that Mike Pence has a constituency that could beat Trump.

What about Cheney?  If you split the crazy vote - the one sane candidate could win.

Depends if Trump isn't indicted.

I'm pretty sure it won't happen, but I'm hoping for a spoiler, someone to go independent against the Rs. Like DT when RD gets the nomination. He'll see it as continued grift and not give a damn about the damage to the party.

2022-07-02 12:05:13 PM
How many will run with the assumption they might get the nomination simply because they out live Trump?

This is my "best of all worlds" scenario.

Which is why he has no chance in a GQP primary.

Here's how it plays out: DT cuts a deal to let RD have the White House. Provided he'll provide protection from prosecutors while DT stays in Mar-a-Lago and continues to do all the criming he wants. Tah dah.

Oh no, stubby, DeSantis is a much bigger asshole than Trump. Trump's is a beastly, unthinking assholeness bred from privilege, imbecility, and decades of delusion. But DeSantis? His assholeness is a choice, a mantle he puts on to achieve his goals, a cunning and devious assholeness. He's just as thin-skinned, vindictive, and shiatty, but he knows how to disguise it just enough to get things done.

JerseyTim: lol at the idea that Mike Pence has a constituency that could beat Trump.

Pence might have a shot if he manned up and testified before the 1/6 committee. Otherwise why listen to anything he has to say?

I'm glad he Barely crawled under the lowest bar, but that doesn't make you worthy of the big chair unless you stick the landing. We've seen a young woman with 100x the courage show what weak men we have as "leaders". Color me unimpressed.

2022-07-02 1:25:56 PM
I mean . . . they all range from Pretty Goddamned Bad to Absolute Loser candidates. Just pathetic. BUT last time around they ponied up like 14 candidates? And Trump was easily the worst. And they still put him in the White House, election or no election. And the DNC could not have put up less of a fight.

So who the hell knows? Ya gotta go vote as hard as you can and then hope it somehow works out.

1. DeathSentence:  Abject catastrophe for the country. Think Trump, but only competent at his evil doing.
Democracy-ending factor (DEF): x10
2. Race Bannon: Zero chance. Would accelerate the race to full-on theocracy by a factor of x3.
3. Pompeo: Might accelerate the end of the world faster than any of the other candidates. At least two new overseas wars, perhaps now with much stronger adversaries.
4. Larry Hogan: Never heard of him, so of all these disasters, maybe the best of the lot?
5. Ted Cruz:  LOL.

Mike Pence is a f*cking idiot that nobody liked in Indiana or whatever the f*ck. He has zero chance unless the entire field eats tainted pork sliders and dies. None.

Hogan is the only sane one of the lot.

Mike Pence is viewed in two different ways: ( i ) exceeding blind & loyal, bootlicking Trump sychophant, or; ( ii ) insufficiently loyal to Trump and traitor.

Nothing in between.

DeSantis could actually pull it off.  He is not as polarizing as Trump so the undecideds will not vote.

Pence is weak and subservient in nature.  I do not even seem him attempting to run at all.

Pompeo is an a**hole but not known enough to the layman to be polarizing.  The undecideds choosing not to vote might have him win.

Hogan is one I do not know.  From what little I found out, he could probably win.

Cruz would lose so please run.  His name is known and from what I understand, he is reviled - even among the right.

Trump himself. . .unknown.  He would get voters from both sides to vote.  The only thing that would need to be done is to show his highlight reel and the undecideds might come out in droves.

This is assuming that they states do not take away the will of the voters.  And certain states are trying damn hard.

All that said.

The chances of a GOP getting into the White House is heavily dependent on whether Biden chooses to seek a second term.  If he does, it sways heavily in the Republicans favor.  He needs to step aside.  Kamala Harris as well.  The Democrats need younger blood and fresh energy.  AOC is not seasoned enough to run.  As I stated earlier, Mark Warner or someone similar.  We need someone to get the message across that sh*t currently is not working and we need to fix it.  F*ck political agendas.  They need to attack McConnell and the lock step of the GOP in the Senate and Congress.  (Newt Gingrich's contract with American in the 90's was simply stating "we are going to f*ck you with no lube).  No more reaching out across the aisle.  It simply is not happening.  The GOP has shown that compromise is not an option.  Lock step.  No lube.  There is a job to do and the American people need to stop listening to pipe dreams.

Taking down the so called "news" media outlets spewing falsehoods is one of the first things that need to be done.

I do not have high hopes.  It is still salvageable though.  We simply need individuals willing to take action.

Ted Cruz was a #2 last time.  He'll probably be a #2 again, an upper-decker in 2024.  It will be lulz to see him run, see if any of the other candidates like DeSantis, insult his wife just to maintain the tradition.

Sadly with the current SC this is a real possibility. Too real.

She isn't sensible. The *only* thing she and the "Never Trumpers" didn't like about Trump's presidency was Trump himself.

Yeah, the only way Pence could get the MAGAts to show up would be to supply his own gallows AND rope.

From my travels to breitfart Pence is a solid no. He failed to keep bunkie in office. Cruz is in RINO status. Not sure exactly why.

They are salivating and jerking off to DeathSantis.

Which is why the RNC withdrew their support for (and effectively banning) any candidates from participating in debates in the upcoming cycle - they're farking crypto-fascists.

This July 4th won't be a celebration - it will be a wake

I could definitely see something like this. DeathSentence tells TFG he'll get a presidential pardon if he doesn't run. TFG announces he's not running because the libs would spend the whole time impeaching him, so he's giving his full support to DeathSentence.

I'd be willing to bet like $20 if desantis is elected he would issue trump a pardon. It would be win win for him, it would help him with Trump's base and also stiggit to the libs.

Thankfully we have a stable of proven winners to step up to the plate on our side if Biden declines to run as a 102 year old.
