Speculation from a Steelers fan site although I would be fine if he never played again.

It's cool...we have Jacoby Brissett. I was told by my fellow Browns fans that any QB other than Baker Mayfield would've led us to the Super Bowl. Case Keenum, Nick Mullens, it really didn't matter. So now we'll put that theory to the test. If Baker was the only thing holding us back, then Jacoby should be more than fine to replace him.

How about the Haslams also sell the team for making this epic mistake?  Then I might be fine.

Why shouldn't the Texans get in trouble? They knew what was happening when it was happening.

But I hope this is true.

Yes, but then they'll enjoy a period of success after the merger with Dominion.  Then that will go south and the razing of their homeland and attempted genocide of their people will ensue.

On the bright side, their decision to draft Manziel doesn't seem as bad by comparison.

Of all the Cleveland Browns in the world....

2022-07-02 2:17:18 AM
Of all the problems the Browns had, who the hell thought it was Baker Mayfield?

It's so sad to see a team this inept. They went into overcorrection because the notoriously hard to work with OBJ didn't workout with them, so they assumed it couldn't have been him, it had to have been the QB, and a playoff appearance and win wasn't good enough. Now they'll have nothing.

I'd take him for the Giants in a heartbeat but the Maras are really stuck to Daniel Jones....

Wait, which team is inept?

Reality:   the coach who played Mayfield when he was still injured caused all of this horrorshow.

La Confora also said the Browns didn't do any research into Watson's case

If I spend 250$ on an item I do some digging/research on it.  You would think the level of research into a person you are giving 250$ million to would be more than just reading all the 4 stars plus reviews.

If they keep this up, the Browns will be relegated to the USFL, and whoever their champion is gets to move up to the NFL.

His contract is 230 million, guaranteed.  There's literally nothing short of a lifetime ban from the NFL or a long stint in prison that would keep him from playing for the Browns.  And that ain't happening.

They're not flushing 230 million down the toilet.

They did that the second they gave him the contract. Right down the sh*tter.

If you were going to take a chance on Watson, the way to do it was with a short contract with little to no guaranteed money.  You don't hand him the entire franchise like the Browns did.

We heard that about Matthew Stafford here in Detroit. "You can't win a Superbowl with Pat Statford" and all that.

All I know is the Browns lost any goodwill they had by picking up Watson. They were a plucky underdog team that everyone wanted to see succeed. When they won their first playoff game in years everybody was happy for them.

Then they go and chuck Baker under the bus and toss away everything to sign Watson. You know, forgetting that Baker was injured early in the year, played through it, basically sacrificed his body for the team and then they go behind his back to grab a QB under investigation for multiple sexual assault allegations.

I'm not a Browns fan, nor have I ever been. But now I hope they crumble.

This is timely for me because I was sitting here getting pissed at an Amazon seller's return policy. The Browns have it way worse.

In hindsight, it makes sense if the owner is merely laundering money and has no desire to win.

He should hold them hostage and demand Watsons contract. And not the cheap first year.

That'd be really stupid.  If he's still with the team at the start of the season it'd be in his best interest to prove himself to the rest of the league.  They already don't want to chance him coming off a big injury... You think they would if he sits out a year?

I expect they will try to claim that they faxed over the contract two minutes late so it's nonbinding.

Now that the lifetime owners of the Cleveland Browns have followed the lead of he lifetime appointees of SCOTUS  and shouted FUQ U to all women in general and to sexual abuse victims in particular...and have contractually obligated nearly a quarter of a billion salary cap dollars illuminate the FUQ U message.....the Browns need a new revenue source to replace what they will lose from female ex Browns fans About 40% of NFL fans are women. So if all the female Crowns fans are smart they will lose 40% of fan based income. If only falf the female Browns fans are idiots then the Browns will still lose 20% . That doesnt even count the woke male Browns fans or any of their fans who's gender is fluid or plasma.

The only untapped wallets that I can envision the Browns prying open with their new policies and vision are A)Selling Watson Jerseys to the incel nation, which is probably smaller in population and income than widely reported on FARK but much larger in average Jersey size than previous Browns jersey buyers. B) Donations from Been Roethlisberger , who vigorously endorses a quarterbacks right to surprise sex act on fe,ale strangers during chance or premeditated meetings. Also Ben is a former owner of the Browns and owes much of his career success to them . He likely has a soft spot for them next to the soft spot left by the motorcycle crash.

That is about it as far as I can tell for ladders that might help the Browns climb out of this shiathole which they have flung themselves into with gusto
