If Radiohead decides to add to their catalogue so be it.  I'm good with what they've produced and they definitely don't owe fans or anybody anything.

they say "the century" in this article, I'm thinking that's *this* century (but you know, that leaves out OK Computer or something).

So please, start with the 2000's, because if anyone can do it, I have faith that you can.

Let Down is arguably one of the best songs ever.
if they want to quit while ahead I am not angry about it. they did their thing and changed music. now that music is plastic models without talent using autotune I totally get walking away. Radiohead are many things but pretty isn't one.

...I only discovered them fairly recently while diving into - of all things - alternate James Bond movie themes.  Have never been able to definitively nail this down, but apparently they submitted songs twice and got turned down twice, for 'Spectre' and 'Man of War'.

/Amazing music

Well, I would start by saying in the 00s Radiohead was effectively supplanted by another band who did everything they were doing but better: Coldplay.

/rendered everything after Kid A completely superfluous and irrelevent

chucknasty: Let Down is arguably one of the best songs ever.

Let Down was the song that finally sold me on Radiohead for good.  I was in college when Creep came out.  I didn't like that faux angsty BS.  Still don't.  Then their second record came out and their material got better.  In particular, "Just" and "Black Star" were excellent.  While my friends bought the record, I still resisted.

A while later I woke up from a late evening nap and found Paranoid Android playing on MTV.  I remember thinking to myself, "Is this the best band in the world right now?"  Still didn't buy the record.  A few days later I was driving to work and heard this beautiful, moving song on the radio.  It was reminiscent of The Byrds in parts.  I was banging my steering wheel and shouting, "Who is this?!?!"  After I arrived at work, I called the station and they informed me it was "Let Down" by Radiohead.  Radiohead, really?  It didn't sound like any of their previous work.  Well, when you put that song together with Paranoid Android, I was definitely going to make a purchase.

I ran out on my lunch break and bought OK Computer.  The album is incredible from start to finish.  It's a masterpiece and the best album of the 1990s.  Not all of their records have been as strong, but they are an amazing group of artists, no question.

thesharkman: Wait is there a Radiohead hate in this thread? Wow what happened the Fark?

Fark has never liked Radiohead.

It's on the list alongside Ayn Rand, veganism, crypto currency/NFTs (formerly gold standard/Austrian School/Ron Paul), crossfit, and Tesla/EVs, of obnoxiously insufferable subjects that its adherents love to park themselves in the urinal next to you and strike up a conversation about.

Never liked Radiohead much, though they are very good. And very influential, but wouldn't agree with "the most" influential.

Despite not really liking them, I saw them once, in '01 i think. That show is in my top 5. They farking rocked.

Maybe we should collectively stop with this idea that every musician or TV show needs a second act. That's a path that leads to a cruise ship lounge slash hulu back catalog respectively...

Radiohead was perfect for it's time, but let another star shine...
