That would certainly explain why feathers are a basal feature of dinosaurs, and probably also why at least some of them were warm blooded.

i had some crow friends before. they followed me around the neighbor hood, protecting me. i fed them nuts. very loyal.

I have this sneaking suspicion one day they're going to say, "They were all probably warm blooded, the previous categories were the ones we were surprised to find were warm blooded, and the ones where we were still holding on to the old 'reptilian' theory".
