I've only had them once, at a little neighborhood tiki bar type restaurant who's owner learned her cooking in New Orleans French Quarter.

They were fried in a very light breading or batter. Very good. I'd say like chicken with the smallest hint of fish/seafood taste.

Australia would like you to know that cane toad legs are safe to eat if prepared properly and there's lots available. Fuga say it sounds fishy.

I was a kid growing up in the Upper Midwest in the '50s, and it wasn't at all unusual to see frog legs on the menus at ordinary restaurants.  I haven't seen them since.

CSB:  in that same era, my family was at our cottage in N. Ontario and my adult sister told my brother that she'd cook frog legs for dinner for the whole family if he provided the frogs.  The next I knew he was headed into the swamp in a canoe, armed with a BB gun.  Some time later he returned with at least a bushel of Rana spp. My sister spent the afternoon cleaning the stack of modest-sized frog carcasses.  That's when I first realized that the frogs whose legs were featured on restaurant menus were considerably larger than what I'd seen in the wild.

I had frogs legs at the Chinese buffet in Morehead, KY.  I think it was X-mas eve; might have been X-mas day.  I liked them.

Tasted just like 3rne57 says.

When my brother would come over, he'd get like 3lbs of them from a seafood joint near me.
/I assume Goose Island is the most famous place in Chicago for frog legs.

My mother-in-law got food poisoning just before our wedding from frogs legs, she was sick as all hell at the ceremony and missed the reception.  My father sent her this cartoon, my father had an odd sense of humor

anuran: I feel personally threatened by this post

*pulls out a measuring tape* Hmmmm. Hmm. *Lets it snap closed*

I'd love to have you over for dinner. I have a lovely aperitif of Worcestershire, hot sauce, white wine, olive oil, thyme, basil, garlic, and pepper for you to start with for three to four hours.

Then I recommend some time in the sauna. The aperitif doubles as an emollient for sensitive skin. It's very healthy.

When should I put you down for? Monday? Feel free to make an event of it and bring the family along too.
