Being an agent of the court and all... if a lawyer refuses to abide by a subpoena, is that something they can be disbarred over?

If he testifies under oath, it's game over. He was there for damn near everything. He can throw everyone above him to the wolves.

He would be John Dean on steroids.

/And it will. Be. Glorious.

Who would have guessed that a show based entirely on deli cold-cut characters would be so successful.  Patsy Baloney and his sidekick Moochey Mock-chicken would win the hearts of viewers.

The John Dean potential is very high.

At some point, you would think one of these lawyers would value his career more than he values Trump... but we don't seem to have reached that point yet.  Maybe this will be the one!

I want him to deny that Donnie ever loses his temper, then the J6 Committee reveals they had CSI dust the WH walls for ketchup prints.

Just like when Michael Cohen testified, provided proof of crimes and clear bread crumbs to follow for more evidence, and then Cohen went to prison and nothing else happened.

Nixon wasn't charged with crimes either so what you point out has nothing do with the comparison with John Dean being raised.

It's his best bet for a life after prison.  Cassidy's testimony isn't the only evidence the J6 committee has on P. Baloney and he's is an idiot if he doesn't realize that.  He can go for a long stay, or he can get out a little earlier if he spills his guts.  He can write a book, do talk shows, and play with his grandchildren in his twilight years instead of eating the minimum-security version of nutri-loaf.  I bet Schiff and Kinzinger and Raskin et. al. are cluing his lawyer in about that right now.

I don't know if it will come to this. There is a theory going around that he may not have wanted to go in voluntarily, but if subpoenaed he would do it, because it would look less to Trump and co. like he was voluntarily throwing him under the bus. That sounds reasonable, so let's see how reasonable he really is. At this point, anyone who testifies ends up looking like a hero in the long term. I'm too often an optimist, but this time I think he may go for it. I think he knows there are too many receipts out there already and the jig is up.

I just wiki'd it and yes he has 10 kids but they sound all grown up since one is the booker on Frau Ingrams show. Also I really hope the J6 drop a tweet today or tomorrow of Pat saying something or texting something that is so farking bad he just says fine and talks.

Being that WH Counsel does not represent the President, but evaluates the Constitutionality of what the President wants to do, can he assert the Fifth when asked about the J6 coup attempt?

Dean started singing, voluntarily IIRC, when he realized they were going to try and put the blame for Watergate on him. He became a VERY friendly witness very quickly.

Cipollone was only subpoena'd because enough people have put him in the room that he can't deny he was a witness. He may have given testimony to the Committee already, but I doubt he's as motivated as Dean was.

// I would also bet (without any means of confirming) that there are things Cipollone knows that he won't divulge to the Committee

Wearing green on a Thursday means you're horny.

Of course, once you're in on the joke it becomes a question about subconscious behavior when it happens.

Trump breaking the FEC rules (re: Stormy D) is such a well-documented, uncomplicated case, and yet nothing

Why, a feller could start to believe there's just the tiniest bit of rot in the system. I know Nancy is busy with the insider stock trading and the drunk driving husband thing, but this election tampering thing might be something to look into, considering Trump is still effing running for President

Don McGahn, the previous White House Counsel, sang like a canary to Mueller. He was the basis for most of the accusations of obstruction of justice that Mueller documented and then the DoJ has since ignored.

Except when Cohen testified, Trump controlled the DOJ, and was using it as a revenge mechanism, not a mechanism of justice.
