Pelosi must either repudiate her support for abortion or stop speaking publicly of her Catholic faith.

Or else what? You already took away her right to pretend to be a cannibal and she's still doing it.

Not for Opus Dei it isn't.  Only the perfect may receive it - and only by being the most regressive shiatheel possible can you be perfect.  Opus Dei is like if John Calvin and Tomas de Torquemada had a hate-baby

Nah. The Holy Spirit is at a higher power level, so you eat the physical substance but the sacramental presence overshadows or EATS you, to put it in your language. The Paraclete takes you within the common union ("communion") between the Christ and the "Mystical Body of Christ on Earth," aka the Church via the hierogamy ('sacred marriage') between them both.

In practice Rome is pretty hands off with it comes to the USCCB. It takes more than this to get Rome involved in a direct way, though yeah he technically is the boss. You can ask the history of African-American Catholicism and Church racism about that.

Next thing, you'll be telling us that the Catholic Church has always believed in the priesthood of all believers, and ordination of women was never really a problem for "real" Catholics.

You can't receive the Eucharist while in a state of sin.  Them's the rules.  It's not up to the individual priest to make that call, but bishops are allowed to excommunicate people they know are in a state of sin, and do.

Until and unless Francis is willing to change that while speaking ex cathedra, it's just, like, his opinion, man.

Anecdote here regarding Opus Dei.

My family was very Catholic when I grew up.  We went to mass, my parents were involved in a bunch of church functions, we went to Catholic school, said our prayers, donated, and we generally kept up with the church.  Our local parish was run by Jesuits at the time, and there was a wee bit of an open secret that two of the priests were keeping each other company in the closet.

As the abuse scandal started to break, the Jesuits peaced out of our parish.  Eventually, a group of Opus Dei adherents took over our parish and masses turned from being about Good Works and charity and Jesus' benevolence to how we were all farking awful sinners who were going to Hell because we didn't donate enough money to the Church.  Between the Opus Dei and the abuse scandal, people effectively abandoned our parish, either deciding to attend services or just dropping Catholicism altogether.  Sundays are now a ghost town in the church.

The only people who kept going to mass in our parish after the Opus Dei takeover were people who very likely are Qberts today.  They lapped up conspiracy theories about shiat like how the abuse scandal was the fault of Liberation Theology and Communists.  I also remember some of the awful shiat some of those people said about the people who were molested, assaulted, and raped, basically claiming they were crisis actors, or were faking it for publicity or a payout.

Long story short, not all of the perpetrators were Opus Dei, but the people who stayed in the Church sure as shiat drank the Kool-Aid.

Umm, a metric shiatton of pagans had jack all to do with conifers.  Pagan doesn't mean Wiccan.  It means non-Abrahamic.  Hindus have no idea what the fark a Christmas tree is, and they are the single largest pagan group going. Zoroastrians were Middle Eastern and didn't hang testicles on trees either.

Also, Christians intentionally incorporated non-Levantine traditions into their faith as a method of securing conversions by reducing the changes to locals.  If it could be reimagined through a Christian lens, they just changed the serial numbers and called it a day.  This wasn't random dudes doing stuff, but an intentional policy

Also also, pagans liberally borrowed from other pagans all the time.  Aphrodite is literally Ishtar with a new wardrobe.  Serapis is what you get if Osiris and Hades had a fark-baby that wore a flower pot on his head.  Heracles appears in late 300s BCE Buddhist art.  And I'm not even getting into the weird woolyboogery that came out of the Hindu diaspora into Southeast Asia.  You can no more argue pagan purity than you can a Thai streetwalker's virtue.  Acting as if only Christians went pilfering is laughable on its face.  About the only innovation Christians brought to the party is actually codifying the process for what pagans called a typical Thursday.
