I love the browns
I hate that we made this move

... it's obvious the league (through the Texans) is tryin to avoid airing their culpability in these CRIMES.

But were the league and the Browns really dumb enough to not see this coming? I also doubt that the Browns were acting independently of the league when they traded for him and paid him all the money. Surely there was agreement in advance what kind of punishments were going to be handed out. They are d-bags either way, but I really cannot imagine that they did not have this all decided a while ago with all the evidence they had.

The management of the Browns should call a news conference and just punch themselves in the balls for an hour straight. It would be less embarrassing than the way they handled this.

More of a bait and switch.  Maybe a rub 'n tug or a reach around.

Bait and switch is $20 extra.

Can anyone give me a reason his suspension should be less than one month per accusation? 24 additional months?

Because Roger Goodell is a worthless sack of shiat.

I mean it makes sense, if we gave people one month in prison for mass murder instead of the death penalty they would be much less likely to appeal.

He, like most presidents, is just the electable idiot whose role is to be the PR punching bag while the real people in charge do whatever they want to make as much money as possible.

Got to make him eligible for half the season, a playoff run and a feel good comeback player of the year prize. He was only 30 to 1 odds the other day. I mean seriously, has anyone bet money on that?

It's the Browns, so a Rusty Trombone is always included.

He appears to be the one herding cats and being the "real person" in charge of making as much money as possible.  Do you really think they hand over the decisions to Dan Snyder, Robert Irsay, Jimmy Haslam, Jerry Jones?  And do you think any of those chuckleclowns would let the rest make all the decisions?  Best guess is that Roger Goodell manages to be the one making the money for them, and has to balance what makes the money against all the sops to the various egos he has to provide to keep his job.

If there are such "real people", they are Roger's staff and probably work directly for Roger.  And aren't paid anywhere near what he is.  So they are "real" people, but not really in "charge".  Roger would have to approve all the decisions, and then convince the owners to go along with them.

Being in Columbus it will be interesting to see which team the local stations air if there is a schedule conflict. For the last few years, it has always been the Browns.

Its the Browns, so even if Watson isn't suspended for the whole season, he'll get injured due to some sort of Rube Goldbergian contrivance where a rat chews far enough into a wire to cause an arc that causes the controller on the sideline fan to fail, which lets the fan spin up to 100%, which causes a bearing to fail, which causes a blade to break off, that hits him in the thigh and causes a near fatal laceration, which gets drug resistant MRSA in the hospital, which puts him out the rest of the season.

I just truly don't understand, as well, what was wrong with Baker Mayfield. He was a good QB, I'd personally kill for him on the Giants rather then Daniel Jones. They ejected a very good QB for a hot mess who won't play, at the very best, for over a year and a half, while earning the enmity of the entire league, the hate of every social organization, with no guarantee Watson will ever be what he was?

Not only that but they managed to absolutely destroy their relationship with Mayfield so he won't be playing in a Browns uniform this season regardless of what happens with Watson.    Contrast that with the 49's Jimmy G situation and it looks like an absolutely massive failure by the Browns orginization.

I don't think anyone has ever lost too much be assuming the Cleveland Browns management was stupid.

Browns figured the league would provide cover and if he wins games the vast majority of Browns fans will forget, fast.
