That kid that took the ball to his head collapsed like a rag doll.  I don't think that's a great sign.

I can't blame the kid for running directly to second. The t-ball field layout on a soccer field that also has markings for lacrosse, or some other shiat, does look confusing.

E-3, batter is out for never touching 1st, 1 run scores if there were fewer than 3 outs

That's just bad lazy coaching.

When I coached my daughter's T-Ball team, we set one goal for the entire season - that all the players playing defense didn't rush for the ball when it was hit.  Took most of the season, but they mostly managed to stay in their positions.

Reminds me of the time many years ago when a bunch of us got together to play some baseball on Centre Island in Toronto.  It was kind on a yearly thing with us at the time -- baseball, then later, booze.  We called in "Boozeball."  (In the winter, it was "boozebowl.")  My girlfriend at the time was playing outfield when someone on the other team hit a pop fly.  My GF was right there to catch it, but because midday the sun was in her eye, very shortly, so, too, was the ball.  Knocked her clean out.  *THWACK*  *thud* Thankfully one of our number was a nurse, and was able to look after her lovely soon-to-be-black eye.

That was a deliberate flop, as a parent I know it well.  There was a definite ouchie involved, but it gets elevated to "near death experience," in order to generate the suffocating attention that children crave.

Also, if you don't know, T-ball baseballs are more like a bouncy ball than an actual baseball. Almost like a hard sponge. So, no one is hitting one or throwing one hard enough to do any real damage.

seriously, how farking hard is it to turn your phone 90 degrees? You're not making a TikTok. You didn't have to whip your phone out in an emergency to get that breaking news. I assume you had all the time in the world to set up this shot, but no.. you'd rather pan-and-scan with 40% of the screen's real estate taken up by the sky and parents' feet.

The head hit/body flop is obvious mugging for attention, but it really does make the video. Ties everything up nicely.

I give it a 9/10. If the parent standing behind home plate got hit in the nuts with the bat flip, it would be a 10/10.

Having kids 'play' a sport that they are several years too young to intellectually understand is a waste of everyone's time.

This comment is almost too dumb to respond to, but I'll bite: how do developing minds learn to do anything new, if everything they don't already fully understand is a waste of time?

You're really arguing that youth sports don't contribute to learning and socialization?

At that age it's more about the social aspect. My gf's kids are 3/5 and they do cheer and karate respectively. Is it high quality stuff? No. But it teaches being ok in front of crowds, social interaction with other kids, and can breed confidence that might not exist otherwise.

Relax.

Mini-mite (I think they may call it something else now) ice hockey is hilarious.  10-12 kids that are 5-6 years old, barely able to skate, all moving in a slow mass towards wherever the puck is.  Then as soon as one of them falls down for no reason it triggers a chain reaction (even if the first one to fall doesn't actually fall INTO anyone, just the act of one falling causes half of the rest to hit the ice).

My son "refs" IP (initiation program-same deal, 5-6 year olds) hockey here - and I can concur, it is hilarious.  The funniest/worst part as a non-parent observer is the actual parents whose kid stays on their feet slightly longer than the rest of them, or actually is able to skate with the puck on their blade for more than a moment or two - THAT kid is on the NHL pathway.  His Dad is sooooo smug.

I got kicked off my TBall team.  Well not so much kicked off as my Mom was too embarrassed to take me back after I laid down and took a nap in the outfield because I was bored out of my skull.  The outfield at a TBall game doesn't see a lot of action.

Now a peewee soccer game is where the action is.  There is only one player position.  The only position is go to the ball and kick that way.  Constant reminders to the players for which way to kick the soccer ball are required.
