The work shows that T cells-in-training that mistakenly react against self-proteins either receive a command to self-destruct or get repurposed into other types of T cells that don't kill but instead restrain other immune cells from attacking.

I'm picturing some hardcore Japanese drill instructor telling one of his fark-ups he has a choice: commit seppuku, or go on execution detail.

Sgt Hartman was a horrible asshole.  If he's the guy you want to emulate in life, you're probably an asshole. If you're someone who goes along with a soap on a rope party, you're a weak willed piece of garbage.
