There was a YouTube channel I recently came across that had boatloads of old interviews with various actors and actresses doing promotions for their respective movies and TV shows. That was it, just interviews from that specific moment. Now of course those being interviewed are trying to hype it up so factor that into it a bit but it is still a neat little time capsule of their thoughts on something before it went huge/bombed.

I can't remember his exact words but while The Girl Next Door wasn't an altogether terrible movie, it was sort of amusing to see Emile Hirsch talking as if it would cure cancer and bring about cold fusion in the utopia caused by the movie existing.

WhippingBoi: EdgeRunner: It could partly be that, but his biggest concern was how completely obsessed some of the fans were. In that famous story where he tries to talk a child into never watching Star Wars again, it was because he saw the seeds of madness in the boy's eyes, and he was worried that the kid was focusing on the movies to such an unhealthy degree it could stunt his growth as a person.

What a crazy thing to be concerned about. The concept that someone could take Star Wars too seriously to the point where it stunts their social growth and ability to mature is insane.

If you're trying to turn that around on me, I've got some relevant Yoda quotes that are going to make you look SO dumb!

I love hearing stories about movies back in the day and how they shot around production issues. Cushing's boots aren't ready yet? Shoot him from the waist up. Mechanical shark doesn't work? Give it like 5 minutes of screen time. Tree-person doesn't speak much English? Overdub him with Vin Diesel speaking one sentence over and over.

Mikey1969: Jesus Christ, you seem to be as obsessed with people being obsessed with Star Wars as you are claiming that they are.

I've known plenty of die hard fans, none that needed an intervention from farking Alec Guinness. Talk about a pretentious twat.

I seem to have hit a nerve.

Hell, you might even say I bullseyed it, like shooting a womp rat in my T-16 back home.
