Weird things seen inside of USN training areas. The Chinese and Russians are going to know it's not them, they're not going to believe it's aliens, so they will assume it's top secret US tech.

It's either real or fake, but the news is directed at our adversaries to convince them they are in no way longer peers

Because they're literally unidentified, while also being flying objects.  See, it's right there in the name.

Imagine you're a species that has developed the knowledge to develop interstellar travel and committed the ludicrously vast resources to make that happen and what you do with that mind-bogglingly-advanced capability is you head to some relatively low-tech planet and spend a new minutes buzzing around one of their vehicles.

Does that, I ask you, pass the giggle test?

I'm sure they are some kind of advanced drone tech...being developed by the US military.   New weapons systems projects are usually top-secret until they go into general deployment.

All lines open callers, and let me make this perfectly clear, for UFO sightings only. The first caller to mention gun control, abortion, or bigfoot will be shot and buried in the high desert.

That's not news.

I'd be willing to bet more of them moonlight on OnlyFans.

I'm sure most of the sailors that are "on the record" heard about it on the mess decks

Maybe it's alien rednecks looking for a laugh. I mean it's not like hillbillies designed and built the truck they go joyriding in.

Then why'd they call the alien spacecraft UFOs on the show UFO.  They knew exactly what they were.

At this point it is pretty clearly obvious that whatever was once identified, or thought to be, a UFO, is actually identifiable, and there is an explanation for it.

In every single case where someone filmed something and said, "That isn't right!  It must be an alien!", they simply didn't understand what they were looking at, or in even more cases, were experiencing an optical illusion.

I don't care how many "credible" people come on and tell us that they saw something they couldn't explain.  It doesn't mean anything at all.

It's no different than ghost hunters.  They will go to whatever lengths they can to show that they are getting indications of paranormal activity, while actually getting NO indication of paranormal activity.

This has been going on for decades.  And there has yet to be a single shred of evidence that any of it is really unexplained.

I get it.  I want to believe too.  I want there to be intelligent life elsewhere.  I think that such a discovery would be the most important and profound discovery in human history.  But we haven't found it yet.  And when we do, the evidence will not be some crappy video footage of something that the filmer simply didn't understand.

Unless aliens did it.

Depends. What if you evolved on the planet hundreds of millions of years prior and decided to check up on the old homestead to see how it was doing after the great impacts that utterly destroyed your civilization, save for the rag-tag fleet that escaped the destruction because they listened to the scientific evidence.

So many assumptions, so little basis for them.  I imagine such a species would be all over the galaxy and therefore didn't set out from their home planet (if they still have one) specifically to come to earth, would have mastered energy harvesting from many sources and that their mind-boggling advanced tech would only appear as such to us and that they would take it for granted and that lastly they could also be so bored that buzzing a warship might be a form of alien sport.

The question remains: Why can't a warship shoot down a drone?  Aren't they armed?  Can't they shoot?

Remember the correct nomenclature  is not that you think there are aliens or that they are ufos, or that there's something we see but don't understand.
The correct description is that you believe in UFOs.

Just like Unicorns, fairies, Bigfoot, Space Jesus & chupacabra.

Yes I do, by definition, and yes I have, because I am not good at identifying things.

Maybe its an alien Reality Show, and they are using advanced scanning tech to record the silly expressions i=on the faces of the stupid humans. Think: an interstellar Candid Camera. Who the hell knows what motivates jaded aliens who are probably living in a post-scarcity society and are bored silly.

Sigh,

Here is my copy pasta of my posts for the weekly "ZOMG! Someone saw something in the sky and the military doesn't know what it is!" thread.

As to your why UFOs always ahead of "human flight", my best guess is our minds work against us when we observe things we do not understand. Most people, even pilots and Navy bridge crews, suck at estimating distances, the speed of objects near and far, and the relationships of these factors like relative speeds etc.

Let's try and remember that one of the "first" well known UFO reported sightings was not until 1947 at Mount Rainier. It is a fairly recent phenomenon that sprang from the increased popularity of science fiction pulp magazines during the early-mid 20th century. The average person seeing an actual airplane in person in the first 20-30 years of the 1900s would have still been a fairly rare thing. After WWII pretty much anything that was in the sky that could not be immediately identified as an airplane just had to be a UFO, a spaceship of some kind from another planet, maybe even Mars!

Just like alien abduction, these things in popular culture can have a psychological effect on some people that can produce a "shared delusion" even if they have never met anyone else that has ever claimed to have had this happen to them. Examples of this are things like the "Mandella Effect".

False memory - Wikipedia

When people are "remembering" what they observed when they report a UFO, they may not be very reliable sources of what they actually observed and are actually recalling what their mind thinks it saw.

I would argue that 99% of all UFO "sightings" fall into these kinds of categories.

So now that we are in the 21st century with modern commercial and military aircraft sensors capturing UFOs performing aerial maneuvers that cannot be explained by any "known" propulsion technology. I would comfortably put most of these in the sensor malfunction or operator error category. As someone that works on state-of-the-art navigation and sensor systems, many that are military grade and used in modern weapons and vessel/aircraft platforms, take it from me, they fark up all the time. If they didn't, my company wouldn't really need someone like me to go through massive log files trying to figure out why a laser ring gyro is not reporting proper global position, or reporting the vessel moving faster than it is, or reporting the vessel is currently upside down when it is not, or the sensor seeing objects that are not there, or reporting objects are not moving when they are etc, etc, etc. While they are getting better every year, radar, navigation, sensors and the software that drives them still fark up, and that is not accounting for human programming or misinterpretation of the data errors.

So, what about that last few percentages of things like this, were we have military vessels being harassed by UFOs?

Most obvious answer is foreign adversary "testing" our miliary ships/aircraft's ability to detect, identify and react/reactions to these harassments. Second would be our own R&D divisions doing the same thing. I can see DARPA and a military contractor testing Navy vessels real world (as in not part of a drill they are aware of) ability to detect, tract and react to "swarm" tech drones as a swarm of drones, armed or unarmed, can easily overwhelm/distract the sensors and a bridge crew from other threats that could be tossed their way, like a long-range cruise missile etc. I suspect that these types of events are the real concern to the DOD, and they rightfully are being reluctant to talk too much about their Navy vessels an aircraft being harassed by systems that are not under their control or cannot even identify who is controlling them due to the current drone tech abilities to operate systems on one side of the planet from an office anywhere else on the other side of the planet.

As a former sailor I can say that there's absolutely nothing to do while underway except to battle overactive imaginations. And it's compounded in the first week since you are probably still drunk and definitely horny. Anyways I never had sex with aliens while at sea.

Huh. Did I just not answer a question that wasn't even asked? Well just understand that weird stuff happens when you have no reference to a horizon other than the sexy curvature of Mother Earth.
