No he won't. The whole reason he dropped out of the NY governor's race was because he had to disclose his finances.
Though I would love to see him do to whatever party's convention what he did at the NY Libertarian convention, dildos and all.

Well Trump set the precedent that disclosure of finances is no long a requirement for being president.  So Stern no longer has that excuse.

Yeah, this.  The precedent has been set.  Trump is one of the leading idiots on the planet and he got elected and somehow served a full term.  And he may even get re-elected.

IQ, common sense, education, the ability to add 2+2 -  none of that matters anymore.

Probably would have to be a qualifier... I'd vote for him if polling showed he was in a race like Ventura has in 1998, close 3-way race (in MY state, "nationally" 3-way in POTUS race means squat) and if the people who actually were curious about voting for him pulled the lever for him, he could win.

/note: likely wouldn't be that way in my state

That was his post's point... Stern running almost certainly pulls votes from the D candidate.  So, GOP would be very happy with him running (as an independent).  If he ran as a D an won the Dem primary, Stern vs. Trump, LOL.

My point is, enough Dems would reject him to absolutely assure a Repuglican POTUS.

Insanity.

Why? Suddenly he's not a toxic, psychopathic narcissist that has to be the center of attention?

Probably the only hope this failing democracy has is a Repuglican base fractured between TFG and DeSantis, with TFG never endorsing anyone but his own craven image.

I am Tom Joad's Complete Lack of Surprise: Why?

Because of the staggering shiatstorm that fell on his head. Who would want to go through that again? Not to mention he will be 78 years old (too old to be president in my opinion).

oh please. Show me a presidential candidate that hasn't overpromised and underdelivered on their campaign rhetoric.
It's how you get elected.  Tell people what they want to hear. Then make excuses on why you cannot deliver on your promises.

If that was true... explain his endless rallies.

Hmm, maybe it is 100% grift. But I doubt it.

His whole presidency was one long grift.  If he can keep up the grift without the presidency, he'll do that.  Besides, if the conspiracy nuttiness of the past few years has proved anything, it's to always keep the marks off balance, anticipating what's coming next.  It's always another two weeks before the next big thing drops: kraken, indisputable proof of election fraud, Hillary getting thrown in jail, whatever.  The point is to keep pressing the urgency and the need for support during these trying end times.

I do wonder when the Gaping Orifice Party will start to forcibly object to him wringing their marks dry. That will be a fun time watching that bloodbath.

Otherwise, they're still acknowledging he's still their emperor.

The whole run was a grift... the entire thing.

Had he lost the EC in 2016, he'd likely have tried to throw up the same conspiracy theories about a "stolen election", and maybe even gotten some like Rudy and Pillow dude along, but, since he wasn't already President, it would not have had the legs that it did from him actually being President and fueling his base for 4 years like he did, with the legitimacy of the office on his side.  You'd have a very small percentage that would "got his back", but, you'd have seen all the GOP leaders and most of the GOP voters even "move on from Trump".

He seems to be one of a number of entertainers -- along with the South Park guys and Jimmy Kimmel, off the top of my head -- who have realized over the years that being "un-PC" for its own sake is not as edgy or entertaining as once thought, and in retrospect has contributed to today's white grievance culture that is pointing us to very dark places. (Some, like Adam Carolla, haven't gotten the message.)

Yeah, he'd make a good Trump replacement.
