First they solve the "is this a brownie, or is it a loaf of rye bread?" Issue that has been plaguing the bakery world, and then they cure identify cancer.

Truly, it is a remarkable time to be alive.

That's quite adequate when you're sorting out pastries from a shelf where everything's a pastry, maybe not so good when screening a population where 99.9% of the screened subjects are perfectly fine and without cancer.

A screening test that flags way more false positives that true positives makes for a shiatty screening test. Bayes is a pretty harsh slap to reality that way.
