I admire the outright laziness of one of the related articles they recommend. "Spaceballs is still awesome." Well no farking shiat. Thanks for letting me know. I was definitely worried that Spaceballs was somehow no longer awesome and I've just been too busy lately to make sure. I've been sleeping like garbage for weeks over it. Glad you had my back, article guy.

Promote from within, have a well-liked champ go pro with the hosting. I've got a couple favorites, but I'm open to ideas based on whatever the show wants, the audience wants, and who is available and able to fill the role without stumbling around.

(Maybe winning the Tournaments of Champions could be an automatic slot hosting for a set time or until audience feedback says yea or nay.)

The only correct decision is to cancel the show.

Terrorists are products of their time. Bombings were the rage in the 60s. If the Unabomber was born in this generation, he'd be a mass-shooter.

That she is.

If it's her I'm done watching. That's how much she makes my ears hurt.

I prefer Ken. If Mayim continues to host, I'll still watch. I hope she gets better about preparing to improve the flow of the show. Someone here mentioned she is getting confirmation of a correct answer in her ear, so there is a delay. Recently there were a few instances of her getting a last name of a person for an answer, a hesitation where the contestant repeats the full name, then the confirmation.

i think they'll have Ken as the main host and mayim do the tournaments.  She has obligations to her other terrible annoying shows.

You would think that production staff would prepare exercises for that.  Mock rounds where shiat just goes off the rails, much like athletic drills.  Technical problems, vague responses, delays from judges.

I just think that for as much as she likes it, she just isn't quite good enough at it, and tries to fill the void of feeling like an unwatchable failure by using cringy humor.

it's not the end of the world if she's the permanent host but Ken is much better by basically every metric for what that particular show needs.

The solution is simple: "This is Deepfake Jeopardy! with your host Kebert Xela."

She lacks the charisma for hosting.

I don't think Ken would be any good in a sit-com....but he handles hosting duties just fine.

That said, brain pill will get the full time gig...

This is probably heretical to say but I'm not sure there was anything special about Trebek other than longevity.

I used to be against Ken Jennings being the permanent host because of his raspy voice but it looks like he fixed it? He seems fine otherwise and always felt like the natural successor to Trebek anyways.

Trebek was somehow able to walk the very thin line between being likable and being an absolutely condescending ass. He just had a vibe that worked well for a trivia show. Things moved at a quick enough pace and he seemed to go decades where the biggest controversy was deciding to shave. Modern jeopardy seems to have a "controversy" several times a month since he died.

I don't even think the controversies are all that controversial. They're amplified because there's been relative inconsistency after eons of consistency.

Some of it is also just the 2022 world we live in. When Trebek was hosting, Jeopardy was kinda just another syndicated show to most of the media world. However, when it became clear there was going to be a major change needed because Trebek was on the way out, when the media realized Jeopardy has this following that kind of overlapped with the same geek culture that buys tickets to Marvel movies, they realized that playing up any potential changes would get clicks and views.

We'll go through something similar, but less intelligent, when Pat or Vanna has to call it a day.

I've never been a huge WoF fan compared to Jeopardy, but it's damn near unwatchable for me now. For one, some of the puzzles are just "phrases" that nobody actually says and might as well be just Mad Libs. To make matters worse, they also show the puzzle for a really short time after the letters are revealed. So it's damn near impossible sometimes to try to play along and guess.

I have way too much going on in my life to spend time on either. I watched one or two of the Aaron Rodgers Jeopardy episodes because I'm a Packers fan and work in sports. It was the peak of my Aaron Rodgers fandom before he went all Joe Rogan-y. But even then, I couldn't find the time to watch more than the first couple episodes he did.

I haven't watched a Wheel episode in at least a decade, maybe two. The one game show I'll occasionally pause for is Family Feud as throwaway TV, unless you consider Whose Line to be a game show (I don't), because Whose Line is the only show I use to steal space off a DVR that's mostly used by my wife.

Because of my love of Whose Line, I do know a little about Let's Make A Deal (Wayne Brady, Jonathan Magnum), so I know is replacing Vanna seems like the most logical career advancement for Tiffany Coyne, whose pictures I ended up stumbling across once and I find myself Googling again every once in a while for some reason. She has a vibe that reminds me of when Donna D'Errico was in her prime and, well, I appreciate it.

Trebek was a good all-around TV person who'd hosted a variety of programs and game shows.  He found one that fit him perfectly.

They were definitely the 2 best, and Ken is just a natural for that if they have to make a decision.  Ken doesn't have a fully natural TV gameshow personality but you don't need it for Jeopardy.  Mayim is missing that 100% fluidity or fluency in the show so far but she'll be a pro by the time they let her go.

"But with all of our plans for Jeopardy!-which is more Jeopardy!, not less, more versions-we're going to need multiple hosts to represent the entire audience, to represent the entire country, in order to take this franchise forward."

Looks like the C-Suite assholes are going to dilute it to death.  Can't wait to have as many Jeopardys as there are Law & Orders.  Jeopardy Classic, Jeopardy Kids, Jeopardy College, Jeopardy Senior, Celebrity Jeopardy, Jeopardy Politics, Jeopardy Country&Western, Jeopardy Sports, Jeopardy Pro-acrylic Knitter, Jeopardy Left-handed Bi-racial Touch-typist...

F*ck 'em.  They started losing me with the dumbing down, and they lost me with the fake "host search" where they hired the professional front-office asshole.  It's dead, as the entity it was.  Some people might like what it's become, and more power to them.  I've had it.

Why is it so difficult for everyone to accept the perfect solution? Just have Danica McKellar be the new host. She's smart, witty, funny and gorgeous. A little bit of something for everyone. I like Ken in the job, but I think Danica would knock it out of the park. I think she'd be a lot less annoying than Mayim is.

Mr Burton did get shafted I think. He was only there for one taping day, and the champ (Amy?) was really quick. He was a bit awkward, but probably would have done better with even one more day.
