As I might expect? Hell, no one has the first clue what life out there looks like. For all we know, it could be a Howard the Duck type situation.

The prospect of sentient alien lifeforms is a difficult concept to wrap one's mind around.  But I think this conundrum was best addressed by one of our great philosophers and hair farmers, Bret "Testiclese" Michaels on the seminal album "Open Up That Ass, Cowboy."

"One Skinny Bob
Just blows me away, yeah
One Skinny Bob, Bob
All night and day, yeah
One Skinny Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob
She just loves to play
One Skinny Bob, nothin' more to say"

FTA: Video effects artist Randy Sharp said that if the clip was fake:"CG technology, at the time of production, would have required a level of expertise of someone ...with a high level of experience/knowledge"

Did the guy look at the video? It can easily be someone in a costume or an animatronic, no CG required.

That's absolutely cg, with half assed animation and a blur filter.

So a extremely advanced alien race sends an Ambassador to Earth to open relations and the choose Russia of all places to land ?
Just a quick visial scan from space on the dark side of the planet would show you a thousand better choices to land than Russia, Earths largest Florida filled with Russian Florida Men.

I'm calling BS. on all of this.

This right here. You can see where its movement stops momentarily in predetermined poses.

Also, CG is only expensive if you pay for it. Someone with the skills and software could make that clip in an afternoon for nothing

I have to wonder if sentience as we know it isn't an evolutionary mistake. Things don't evolve according to a plan so it's not as if sentience is the end goal.
If you look at eyes, for example, there are dozens of different configurations of eyes in the animal kingdom. There are multiple species who have seperately evolved to use sonar, or electrical pulses when hunting, there are creatures with thermal vision, and other evolved abilities humans would consider superpowers.

And yet sentience only seems to have cropped up once, (at least human level sentience, there are plenty of creatures that are intelligent, like dolphins and cephalopods) so, I have to wonder if there really is going to be much sentient life as we know it traveling the stars. Assuming civilization as a foregone conclusion of intelligence seems, anthropocentric, I guess. It's more likely that if live evolves on other worlds, even the intelligent species probably won't build societies. We're the really the only ones that do that out of the millions of species on our planet.

Well, and ants.

This is the real reason they are confiscating oligarchs' yachts.

It was sold off to a private collector decades ago and there is a rumor circulating that it was being smuggled out of Russia on one of their yachts. The Russians think if they can show the public that aliens are real it will distract the west from the war Ukraine.

Yep. The funny thing is how little people pay attention to animation. I've been with some apparently A level supes who comment on shadows and flickering when the animation is clearly broken. They don't even see it. It's actually kind of amazing, and is why you need to ride your shots well through the comp phase of the pipe.
