Look pal, just because we righteous Bible thumping Baptist zealots co opted one of the planks of your heretical, not real, versions of Christianity, don't get to thinking that we have anything in common.

We don't allow dress wearing, funny and hats in church, kiddie diddling freaks in this good ol' God fearing land.  Well, except for youth pastors, Boy Scout leaders, and quiverfull folks, like Josh Duggar.

Yep.  The Protestant Right got what they needed from you, Catholics, so get ready to meet the underside of the bus.

Say what you will about the Catholic Church's official stances, but at least they are consistent.

Here's a clue, Mr Funnyhat:

These regressive White Christian Nationalists aren't pro-life.

They're pro-hate.

Yeah...sure.

No Divorce...no Exceptions.
(Except these exceptions)

Owning Slaves Is perfectly fine.
(Whoops...might want to change that one)

The Mass Should be in Latin only.
(WHUT???)

Limbo
That ruling was overturned...or still in Limbo forever and ever....Now unbaptized babies could still enjoy the after life...but still don't rate full access 'gold card' status' so F U Babies, like sitting at the folding table with tater tots and paper plates at thanksgiving----forever. This makes me wonder what happened to all those souls in Limbo after CHURCH decided there was no Limbo...did they all have to go line up like airport security to get sorted?

They don't, actually. They're quite consistent; they support themselves controlling everyone else's life.

Kinda like many serial killers, fascists get off on using power to cause pain and suffering as a means to control the fates of others and to make themselves feel 'stronger'.

St. Christopher was a Saint. Then the CC dropped him/his day in '69 because it was getting a bit messy.

Then the Church reinstalled him after careful accounting of gift shop sales.

/I know you're being sarcastic...I'm just going with it.

Do most Americans know how most of this country's history was about oppressing Catholics?  They couldn't vote until after 1820, there was widespread discrimination against Irish immigrants due to this, and JFKs election was a big deal in 1960.

2022-06-26 6:02:06 AM
Hate the Church if you like, the gods know they deserve it; but Pope Francis is no fool.

2022-06-26 6:23:20 AM
If the Catholic Church wants to do more than play lip-service to all that, they have the funds to do an extensive advertising campaign here in the US to try to convince people that they should be pro-life in more ways than just being anti-abortion. They will never do that because US Catholics would not want to hear that message. In short, this is nothing more than virtue signaling by the Catholic Church.

We all know the only reason Catholics want to outlaw abortion is so their priests have more kids to fark and their God can beat off while it happens.

Yeah the Church never funds any programs to help the poor, like homeless shelters or food pantries or whole hospital systems or  trips... nope.

They don't find them unconditionally do they?

Here's an idea. Tax the churches. Use that money to provide religion free aid to those who need it. Use that money to provide for hospitals and homeless shelters. And don't ducking let them choose not to cover birth control or preach about how gay sex is a sin.

It's not charity. It's just their advertising campaign.

It's a great example of why the right is successful at pushing their bullshiat even if it's only supported by like a quarter of the public.

Also: Splitter!

Heh, now let's not be hasty. We don't believe in that here.

We're pro-life! Not pro-Europe. We're pro-Israel, not pro-Jew. Understand? And the Arabs and the Italians better start packing their bags.

Also put Science on that last train out of here. We don't need that no more!

The poverty and the sickness are the point.

The objective is a educated, healthy, white male elite, with plenty of easily exploitable masses to farm.

There is literally a monument to anti-Catholicism in Washington, DC. Here it is:

4.bp.blogspot.comView Full Size

You notice it changes color midway up. That's because the pope donated a stone & the American Party (the Know-Nothings) stole the stone, broke it, & all progress on the monument halted. When they started again, after the Civil War, the quality of the stone they could get had changed.

I do wonder if the Evangelicals have misjudged Catholic voters when they expect to after LGBTQ issues next.

About a quarter of midterm voters are Catholic. I've heard countless homilies about abortion, especially from Father Artillery (a corruption of his name), a right winger who would seem to work abortion into every homily. I also remember him (& many other priests) talking about the death penalty a few times but I don't recall him ever talking about same-sex marriage or anything about sex except maybe premarital sex.

They expect Catholics to want to go after Lawrence v. Texas or Obergefell v. Hodges or a nationwide abortion ban next but I wouldn't be surprised if Catholic voters move right along to trying to overturn Gregg v. Georgia next.
