If you're bored and do this in your kitchen, OK.  But making it out to be a big thing worthy of celebration just seems sad to me.

GBoWR is full of stupid shiat like this.

Yes, it makes you long for the good old days when a real record was pushing a peanut up a hill with your nose.

Yes, this is why those of us who grew up with it loved it. It was a combination of human oddities, strange facts, and absurd "feats" like this.

It's fun.

This:

Chandler successfully broke the record by finding and organizing the 26 letters in 2 minutes and 8.6 seconds. He said he wanted his accomplishment to inspire his 11-year-old son, Brycen, to achieve his dreams.

Is fundamentally less sad than if you reverse the sentence order to this:

He said he wanted his accomplishment to inspire his 11-year-old son, Brycen, to achieve his dreams. Chandler successfully broke the record by finding and organizing the 26 letters in 2 minutes and 8.6 seconds.

But I don't know why.

The article doesn't specify if they were hot or cold, or if he was allowed to strain and rinse them, either before, or as part of his time.

That's because it was a British can of alphabet soup.  They never use the letter Z so they just include a second N.

You kid, but that W is most certainly an upside-down M.

I'll be more amazed if the alphabet soup is still hot.

/Wasn't there a stunt like this on game shows?

I think this kind of thing could make for a fun competition during a kid's party, I'd use fake alphabet soup, i.e. plastic letters in a non toxic but disgusting goop that won't attract too much bugs before it gets cleaned.

Using fake soup would assure that the contest if fair since all kids would start with the same distribution of letters, the article implied that this is not the case for real alphabet soup.

I got your joke, I was going along with it, compounding it with pedantry about the rules.
