When is a new green book going be made listing states that are not safe to travel to because of racist and discriminatory laws and abusive policing?  Now that it is clear republicans believe human rights are optional there will be states that are not safe for good and decent people to enter.

Seems pretty tame considering what just happened. This is the proper response from an elected Democrat: "I'm pissed as a motherfarker"

"Peaceful, peaceful, peaceful. No intimidation. Violence is never acceptable. Threats and intimidation are not speech," he said. "We must stand against violence in any form, regardless of your rationale."

Take it from a Black American, peaceful doesn't work in the long run. You may get some short term gains, but the people we're fighting won't back down. You're either going to have to defeat them out of office or make it so difficult to hold their ideology that they change. It should already be known they have zero qualms about using violence against other Americans. Be prepared to meet and return that violence back.

I don't think Black America would have to fight racism as much now if we had met the violence against us with even more violence back at racists.

"We declare our right on this earth to be a human being, to be respected as a human being, to be given the rights of a human being in this society, on this earth, in this day, which we intend to bring into existence by any means necessary." -- Malcolm X

Pack the court... win MASSIVELY in November. Hold the house and get 55-60 Senate seats... all we need it 51 yes votes to kill the filibuster or 60 to pass things.

Or violent Revolution that overthrows the entire government and installs a new one.

None of that is likely.

What is more likely is that things stay the same, maybe GOP picks up the House but does not get the Senate. Either way Dems can't pass laws to protect Abortion and other things coming from this court.

The only "easy" quick fixes have 0% chance here. This is the final wave of 40 years of GOP activism, big money control using social issues to get their tax cuts finally all coming to the end gane where they get what they wanted.

What happens next is going to be... well, hold me.

Yeah, we're f*cked.  The Democrats got so fascinated with bipartisanship that they stopped watching - or if they were, whomever was in charge of analysis was a goddamn incompetent, because while they were compromising, the Republicans were appointing judges and playing the long game.  Young RWNJ judges, voter suppression laws, gerrymandering, State legislatures... All of it.  All working towards taking control and cutting off every avenue of redress.

They won.  The Democrats f*cking handed them the win.  All of us lose.

Well... I mean, aside from the rich people who want low taxes, the racists and the religious nut jobs... there are also millions of people who vote for the GOP because the want to be on the winning side when the Nazis come to power. The GOP wins and the DNC loses. They lose even when they win,

Like, I keep saying... I'll keep voting for the Dems, but they have got to get better, tougher, smarter scrappier people and they need to fight dirty to defeat this evil.

That's it. That's where we are. Now, I'm going to go have a bunch of beers.

If it feels right to them at that moment, it's right for the country.

Yah, I say it, too.  I wish the Democratic leadership would listen.  But they don't give a f*ck beyond their own personal re-election, unlike the Republicans who have a mission and the backing of the national organization to accomplish it, even if that means they have to cut the voting machines in that district down to 1 to keep that person elected.

Lashes out.

"I think the extreme court has made some terrible decisions."

I think we have a different opinion of the definition of "Lashes out."

Lashing out would mean that Biden and the Democrats are going to impeach the SCORUS justices, pack the court, or otherwise do something. Lashing out would mean sending Coalfinger and QuirkLord a message that they tie the line or pack their bags. Lashing out would mean that he defines the police and let the protestors actually protest without fear of harm, injury or arrest.

This? This is nothing.

I'd like to believe this, and actually used to believe that this would be how things have played out. But the Republicans have developed so many other BS wedge issues to keep the outrage machine running and the votes and donations coming in. They will never run out, and it will always be effective, because there is no such thing as a satisfied fanatic.

Yes but the important thing is that when they went low we went high. That we lost with our head held high and are stock options still available while we sing God bless America and read a poem... Our daughter still working for Facebook and Google.

And we didn't have to go to those stupid little States like Wisconsin or Michigan to campaign because that would have just been intelligent. Instead we'll stay in the Hamptons and do sing-alongs with Paul McCartney and the cast of Hamilton.
And remember how we flew down to Texas to put the full weight of the democratic machine behind an incumbent who is anti-choice who barely won in his runoff campaign against a progressive minority woman. Because we need to make sure that we support the speaker of the house and the leader of the Senate rather than do anything effective.

Dems, both elected and non, made the mistake of not thinking Republicans were saying the quiet parts out loud for the past 40+ years

"Oh, they've got their fringe weirdos, but it's ok, they'll never hold power".  Even after Reagan, after Iran -Contra, Bush I & II, they never believed Republicans meant the things they said.  Why that is I can only guess - they themselves didn't mean the shiat they said?  They thought bonds of social class would keep the leadership in line?

And it's still going on - Sotomayor talking about how kind Clarence is, knowing the names of everyone in the Court building, even the ones who's rights he's taking away.  Nancy talking about the need for a strong Republican party.  Biden talking about his friend Mitch.  All this in the same year as Republicans take further steps towards the fascist theocracy they've openly advocated for.

Dems need to start openly talking about the illegitimate Supreme Court.  The governor of a large state, California, NY, etc. should openly refer to their decisions as illegitimate, coming from an illegitimate court.  Nancy nor Biden is capable of saying it - I firmly believe they'd rather die than openly speak it, in fact.

Are you out of your mind? I keep hearing this from people and pundits that somehow this is going to end up losing Republican votes because they finally got roe v Wade overturned. That's a lot of horseshiat. Now they're energized because having done this they'll go after contraception, gay marriage, trans rights, CRT, and everything else that doesn't fit within their horrifyingly narrow evil little Evangelical minds.

It's only started and anyone who actually bought into the idea that once they caught this car that they would be satisfied was either deluded, ignorant or both.
