Not really a whatabout... after the Canadians closed their residential schools in the 1970's they kidnapped kids and sent them to ours. So when we start digging around our "schools" chance are some of those remains will be Canadian.

Residential school survivors have been asking for this, and to meet with the Pope.  Actually going to the schools and listening to stories of the abuses makes it very difficult to deny they ever happened.

I think that more involvement from the church and an official apology were one of the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation commission.
