Gordon Bennett: Morse code?

What better way to text someone without her husband finding out what's being said?

Gordon Bennett: Morse code?

Amazon Description:
Wired Love a Romance of Dots and Dashes Wired Love a Romance of Dots and Dashes by Ella Cheever Thayer, is an enchanting book about a love affair between two telegraphers in America, code names 'N' and 'C'. The couple fall victim to the dangers that internet chat-room users are faced with today: they begin to fall for the stranger on the other end of the line without knowing what they look like, who they are, or anything much about them. For the first few chapters, 'N', known as Nattie, has no idea if the grapher on the end of the line is a man or a woman. She leads a double life - her 'online' life and her humdrum normal life. She has her real, 'visible' friends, and this increasingly special 'invisible' friend. The humor in this novel is touching and farcical at times, and I found this to be one of the most charming aspects of the book. Charming is the perfect word for it as you fall in love with the characters and delight in the myriad of misunderstanding that makes this novel so highly cinematic.

I also found there is a BBC Radio 4 documentary about the book.

The book is in the public domain, you can get it free on Project Gutenberg.

What do you think all those dots and dashes are for?  The alphabet is for amateurs.

The porn industry adopted HD-DVD instead of Blu-Ray, one of their rare missteps.

Tens of thousands of years ago, some guy smeared some pigment on a wall to make a dirty picture of a girl he had the hots for.

Porn is as old as humanity.

I think it was "The Man Show" that did a skit about Thomas Edison's inventions being all for pornography.

"Its too dark for me to read this pornography by candlelight..."

"I wish I could listen to this pornography instead of reading it..."

"if only these pornographic pictures were moving..."

In the final shot, he's sitting back watching porn, eating popcorn, and says "Ah, a life well spent."

Possibly as a result of Sony not licensing Betamax for porn when it came out. Porn purveyors probably thought they'd play tastemaker again thinking Sony would make the same mistake twice.

Pretty sure the Internet made porn on physical media mostly obsolete. That and nobody wants to see pimples in Hi-Def.

One of the first groups to embrace PCs was agriculture. Fields were micro-mapped. Sees were sown. Fertilizer and water were distributed. Etc.

During that brief battle if you took even one step back and saw what was happening you knew HD-DVD was going nowhere. The few businesses that latched onto it were simply conned.

A very slightly redesigned morse device can be rather useful in the sex industry.

You gotta believe that the second printed document he and his group made was porn.

I've been saying this for decades. The porn industry should take its role as the technological vanguard more seriously. And by more seriously, I mean more lucratively.

Yeah, but not as bad as the DVDA soundtracks.

Everyone forgets what the porn industry did for e-commerce. They pioneered all the ways, good and bad, for kicking that off and defending against hacks and fraud.

She must have had very strong and nimble fingers from reading all of those aviation manuals in Braille.
