adamatari: If we get an end Permian level event, the chances of humans surviving in any form are vanishingly small. Yes, we're very adaptable, but there is a limit and currently most humans depend on agriculture to feed themselves. Agriculture depends on a measure of stability.

Agriculture has been steadily killing off diversity in favor of stability. We've bred plants that do very well at providing sustenance in specific conditions  As long as there is a place we can grow plants that will sustain us, we will survive.

Where those places will be, who will be doing the growing, how many people will be eating the produce, and whether it'll be farming with heavy machinery or oxen?  Who the hell knows.
