Stop calling it a yacht: Three people and two dogs lived in roughly 800 sq ft of marine architecture, that ain't a yacht, it's a houseboat. That's like calling a toilet a "water folly."

FTA:"This was their home. They lived on this boat, so everything they own is gone. This was their only home," said Sgt. Steve O'Connor of the NHSP Marine Patrol.

Yes, How dare those people live on an 800 sq. foot houseboat. The nerve of some people rubbing their floating trailer in other people faces.
/Seriously, are you homeless or something, to be resentful of people living in a floating singlewide?

I can't tell if people are funny, trolls, or sadly uninformed, I've worked on a 70' Marlow before if you think you're trading your single wide for it I got some bad news.

70' Marlow's for sale

"The passengers, identified as Arthur Watson, 67, and Diane Watson, 57, both of New Canaan, Connecticut, and Jarrod Tubbs, 33, of Jupiter, Florida, were taken to a hospital, treated and released."

Still waiting for the names of the dogs...

My first thought was "are the dogs ok?".

Glad to see you have your priorities straight.

Also,

Authorities said they do not know what caused the fire and likely never will because the yacht was destroyed by the flames.

"Authorities are unlikely to determine the cause of the fire, because there was a fire."

This was obviously some polyamorous, Satan-worshipping sex cult.  If Jesus hadn't smote the boat when He did, we'd have another Scientology in a few years.  I don't even want to think what they were doing with those poor dogs.  So you can take your narrative of poor, unfortunate hillbillies and stuff it in a sack.  The rest of us are through the looking glass.

Damn I would never want to die by 'smote boat'

/boating is quite cheap to live on, anchoring in most of the Bay is free. People toss a engine block with a mooring ball and its instant free slip for life.

That's great news if you're looking to start a sex cult on the cheap!

I thought the same thing until I read 70 feet.  I think that's considered a yacht
