All these recalls lately really have them living up to that.

Which is really annoying because I like a lot of their recent offerings.

That's one entertaining headline. Did anyone else actually hear the song when you read it?

They could fix the problem entirely by selling vehicles with manual transmissions and parking breaks.

I love that we live in a society that has major recalls all the time from mechanical, to food issues and yet we still have one political party that wants to do away with as many regulations as possible.

If you think things are bad now, just wait.

Read the headline in Fred Durst's voice first and wondered why subby neglected the "WHAT?!"

Now it's Dan Aykroyd's voice, the way God intended it.

Glad I dumped my Ford stock a couple months back. Another example of a backwards American manufacturer cutting corners to make a profit rather than investing in a superior product.

I had that bushing fail in 2019 on a 2004 Saturn L-300 wagon.  The shop wanted $500 to fix it.

I found a bushing online for less than $10, somewhere around $20 - $25 with express shipping, and put it in myself in less than 10 minutes.

Ford.is great at a couple of things (if you look at the recall history):
1) Starting an engine fire
2) Vehicles failing to stay in park

My dad had a 1977 F150 he ordered from the factory.  It 1) "attacked" him one day by popping out of Park after he slammed the door while proceeding to open a gate; and, 2) the problematic carburetor had the float stick many times until the day it stayed stuck when my mom was driving it.  Gasoline shot all over the engine *poof*

Funny story:  you can engage a parking brake on a car with a slush box. In fact, if you're using the parking pawl as the only way to secure the vehicle in place, eventually it will probably roll away.

I still don't understand why Toyota's market share isn't significantly higher.

/they don't tend to roll away, or catch on fire, or make rude phone calls to the local pub, or whatever

They did tend to have an acceleration problem, however...

The Toyota article referenced is a badly written effort to drum up business for an on-going class action lawsuit. It also blames problems in Toyota "breaks", which makes you wonder if AI journalism is marked reedie...

The problems are also a decade old.  Some (although apparently not all) of the problems were caused by dealers putting the wrong model of floor mat (for a different model of car) and it getting stuck on the pedal because it didn't fit right.

We've been making gasoline fueled cars for like 30 years and we STILL haven't gotten them perfected?

Back to horses, I say! Plus, horses are indirectly solar powered since their food comes from plants. Be green by feeding your brown horse greens that it turns into piles of brown. Which will eventually sprout green things!

My car is one of the vehicles in the range of this recall (2015 Fusion Hybrid). It has had 2 previous recalls, and have taken it to the dealership each time.

My car so far has not experienced any of the recall issues. Or any other issues, really, beyond normal wear and tear. So somewhere out there is at least 1 person's car that probably experienced all 3 issues prior to the recall stage. They got the lemons, and so far, i have the peach. Yay me.
