I am more of a sex machine.

I want to be a spatula.

I'm a dancing machine.
2002-02-26 01:48:57 AM
I already am a "highly trained killing machine." I'm just self-taught.

I mean sure, they could get paid £100,000 to be someone's bodyguard, but they rarely get to do that totally sweeet ninja stuff they do in the SAS.
2002-02-26 01:51:26 AM
Who wants to send Harmonia's info' to the recruiter with the "Very interested" mark checked?
2002-02-26 01:51:40 AM
"Totally sweet ninja stuff"

You're not a veteran, are you?

I'm actually registered as a lethal weapon in a few states

What state would that be? State of confusion?

WoodyTX That was more of a reference to this totally sweet Ninja page posted on FARK a while back.

By sweet I mean totally awesome.

But you have to be British :(
2002-02-26 02:14:56 AM
I must admit, the Ninja page was very... whatever the hell it was.

Most of the stuff they do is just the product of good training. The hazing (crawling through sheep entrails, the land nav courses that kill off recruits with amazing regularity, etc) is just to be sure you really, really want to be there.

I should apply, I'm a quarter British, and my last name is British (it's "G;ryvjrt"- blurred, M2C style, let's see if anyone figures it out)... plus I've played as an SAS enough on Counterstrike... too bad I'm an Americanian citizen :o(.

My roomate is already a member of the SAS. Or at least that's what he says when I ask him what he's doing on the computer. He says he has to defuse the bomb.
2002-02-26 03:31:31 AM
i have a throbbing weapon.

My best friend's dad was in the SAS when I lived over there as a teenager. The guy was a total badass. Trained with the Ghurkas & shiat. He was never around much, though.
2002-02-26 04:43:25 AM
This might explain why they're having trouble recruiting.

It's the story of a group of SAS soldiers left to die in the desert during the Gulf War.
2002-02-26 05:29:01 AM
You have to be good at shooting unarmed people in the back.
2002-02-26 05:41:06 AM

Go free some hostages, or any of the other things the SAS do, then maybe you'll be fit to weigh in on the subject. Until then, the "I hate all authority figures" thing is going to continue sounding like so much teenage angst.
2002-02-26 05:52:04 AM
EF, you ever heard of the Gibralter shootings, where those brave SAS lads shot three unarmed IRA suspects in the back?

Or there Ireland adventures when they blew away a schoolboy because he came across their hideout?

Do try and find out what is going on, rather than rely on the CNN view of the world.

BTW good morning.

2002-02-26 06:00:49 AM
For a start, I don't much care what part of the body IRA members get shot in, as long as they get shot.

As for the small boy, it's a shame if it's true. Somehow I doubt it was deliberate. For every example of a cock up, though, I'm sure there are 100 success stories. These men are highly trained and very good at what they do. No one is infallible. Not even me. ;)
2002-02-26 06:06:10 AM
As long as I can get away with murder, grab as much drugs from the C.I.A. as I want, give me a 'vette and date super models then I'll sign up.
Pay is negotiable as long as above requirements are met.
2002-02-26 07:32:09 AM

It sucks. Similar things have happened for US forces, as well. There's Clinton's refusal to provide armor to the forces in Somalia, the teams shot up in panama.

Anytime you get politicians (civilian or military) involved, people die needlessly.

2002-02-26 09:46:51 AM
i thought they meant

The software cult.
2002-02-26 09:57:29 AM
Yes they shot three terrorists in the back. They screwed up. They ALSO reclaimed the embassy at Princes Gate in 1980 with no hostage casualties, they were personally thanked by Norman Schwarzkopf for preventing the Gulf War expanding into other Arab states by destroying scuds that were to target Israel. They were instrumental in reclaiming the Falklands. The list goes on...

fark ups happen Harmonia - you can't train people to fight like they do and expect it to be happy lovely and rosey all the time. YOU probably wouldn't have shot the terrorists in Gibraltar. You also would not have been able to cover 50km a day through the desert carrying 100lb of equipment.
2002-02-26 10:00:02 AM
Oh and let's not forget... as it turned out the three unarmed IRA suspects WERE terrorists and they WERE about to commit an act that would almost certainly have led to a loss of civilian life.

Think there's enough pop ups on that page? By the time I got them all closed, I lost interest in reading the Farticle.

silly limey gits..........

Hotdog there, commenting on the points raised with his usual insightfulness,
2002-02-26 12:18:51 PM
I have to say, Harmonia, you're about as lame as they come. Do you act like this in real life? If so, do you have any friends?
2002-02-26 12:58:25 PM
Well Harmonia knows whats going on, NOT.
Still the motto should be "Who Cares Who Wins"

I was under the impression that this was Fark, not a Noraid web site. Ah well, just goes to show
