Dude. It was broken for a reason.

Now we wait for some spectral dude to show up, claim it, and make it glow and shiat, and shoot out death rays.

Does this mean he can call forth an army of the dead?  Reclaim the throne from the Regent?

Sounds like the opening of a Clive Cussler novel.

Yes. I read most of them. Hell of a lot of fun.

On the plus side, we could get the Fourth Age and restoration of Gondor.

Came to make a comment about how it has been reforged and can now command the allegiance of an army of the dead, but this works.

Yawn. An old sword was found and is A BIG F@CKING DEAL to a few nerds who spent too much time & money thinking they'd be the next Indiana Jones but just rifle around random graves for stuff random old rich people got buried with

In other words, "interesting times" as the Chinese curse puts it?

"Interesting Times With Nukes" sounds like a name for a Death Metal Technogoth Band

Honestly? Not seeing the downside. Either we get a hero of the ages, or a villain who will destroy the current power structure. I'm excited. Let's do this.

Wait a minute. Aren't the Ukrainians descended from the original Russ who were descended from the Vikings? Anybody know Zelenskyy's ancestry? Maybe he is the 48th great grandson of the dude who lost the sword, and the sword will fly to him, nestle in his hand, and glow. Ammo, not a ride.

There's only one "original Russ," in my book, the creator of the greatest film genre ever.

It's actually "Rus" so my bad. I wanted to double check this and found these interesting links.

More like the soldered pieces of Narsil, I don't recall them being melted down into a new billet. Good thing it's a magic sword, otherwise it'd go kerplang the first time it hit something.

Yeah I read those too.  I had to move some of them to the basement to make room for more Charles Stross books.  And Max Hastings.

It's "Rus" not "Russ" and, actually, those three refs I cited tend to say "yes."
