Del Taco is the best fast food restaurant. Chicken soft tacos are heavenly.

Subby, it's not a ranking of "best."  It's a rating of "most popular."  These are VERY different concepts.

There's two new chains popping up here in SE Michigan, Zo's Good Burger and Savvy Sliders. Zo's is tasty, but they make 5 Guy's seem affordable. The fries aren't as good, but there's more options for loaded fries.

I haven't tried Savvy yet. They're affiliated with Happy's Pizza, and that's some mediocre pizza right there. I will give em props for being the first place around here to offer chorizo as a topping.

Here is where they are getting their information and it is a BS study.  What is Raising Cain's?  Supposedly it is very popular in Chicago and I have no idea what it is.

And if she'd make it fresh and put some extra fries in the bag, I might pay more.

I didn't read the research methods, but it is screwy. I think number of locations makes a big difference.

They said Chick-fil-a was number 1 in Detroit. But the company just moved into the area. It looks like there are only 22 location in total in the state. Only 3 in the city and they are at the two airports and a major medical center. Not stand alone locations. There are only 4 more in the tri-county burbs.

Luckily with this subject, there are a lot of grains of salt to take with this "study."

Yeah, I suspect that is the issue with In-N-Out. They really don't have that many locations, especially compared to some of the other chains on that list. The ones they do have are always crowded. Sometimes it's easier to skip the line and go somewhere less good.

Contrabulous Flabtraption: Del Taco is the best fast food restaurant. Chicken soft tacos are heavenly.

There used to be a chain called Naugles, which eventually merged with Del Taco circa 1990 with all of them converted to Del Tacos.  It was based locally in my city, Riverside, and had almost as large a market share here as Del Taco.

And this is why to this very day, there are about twice as many Del Tacos in Riverside as there really should be (including some very close to each other), as they closed almost none of them.

/there's a lot of other fast food choices too
//easy to get fat here

Moniker o' Shame: Here is where they are getting their information and it is a BS study.  What is Raising Cain's?  Supposedly it is very popular in Chicago and I have no idea what it is.

Fairly bland chicken fingers. They've got a dipping sauce which is pretty popular, if you like thousand-island-type sauce (I don't particularly). It's not overly greasy, but it's lacking in menu variety, pretty much "how many fingers, and what size fries?" If they'd come out with a variety of dipping sauces, it could be actually good.

It's a fairly bland, non-offensive menu, though they don't skimp on portion size, so you'll get full. It's pretty popular around here (greater NOLA), so it tends to be crowded and therefore lacking in the "fast" department of fast food, so I rarely eat there--it's just not good enough to me to justify the line or wait.

List copied from TopAgency, which lists TopData as its source. What's that? You have no idea who they are? Yeah. Neither does anyone else. They're based in Austin & run by Benjamin Kaplan, the guy who also runs PR Hacker and National Today. They may have "boots on the ground in 20+ countries," but they make less than $5M a year and Kaplan's a huckster.

This is a marketing firm selling "data" for eyeshare.

One of the "top 5" for my state doesn't even have a single location in the state.  Must be really popular if people are having to drive to a different state to go to it.

The Apple Pan is really nothing special, and those conical paper cups they serve the drinks in are really gross. If you want L.A. food nostalgia done right, Philipe's is the way to go.
