Melanoma should be equally accessable to everyone regardless of race or gender.

Current state law dictates that only men can go topless in public. Women can face a penalty of up to three years in prison and a fine of up to $300. "

Three years in prison for showing tiddies?  That seems a bit excessive.

The measure was among the 107 articles that were under consideration at the annual town meeting that began on Monday.
The topless beach proposal is proposed by island resident Dorothy Stover. Stover is the daughter of a former town clerk and runs the Nantucket Love School.

Dorothy Stover addressed
Nantucket's town meeting and stressed,
"Laws for all genders!"
And I do defend her,
but also I want to see breasts.

But when his wife flashed her melons
They both became felons
Because the measure hasn't been voted on yet, let alone approved. Suck it.

The stupid thing is that it is almost 100% cultural.  See enough boobs, they're no longer taboo to view and no longer particularly arousing unless the owner is showing interest in you.

Laws shouldn't be involved in this type of cultural enforcement, women ought to be able to go topless wherever a man can.

The real action was further down the ticket...from the BH:

"So, zipping right along from nips to nipples," Town Meeting Moderator Sarah Alger said as she introduced the article after mini bottles of booze - called "nips" - were banned....Citizens voted 347-105n to oust fertilizer island-wide, with the exception of farmland, to help keep the harbor clean.

That debate forced a constable to step between a landscaper and boat captain.

/I got $10 the Captain Ron kicks his ass
//n that's bout 4-5% of the full-time population of the island going to a town meeting. pretty cool IMO

I predict a thread full of

a) Fat gamergaters crying "any women who don't look like the porn stars I jack it to in my mom's basement are disgusting", and

b) Idiots insisting that boobs are sex organs and that if they have to look at them too often, they'll end up impotent and unable to disappoint the next woman they're permitted to crawl on top of.

Hygiene is the only reason to require people to wear clothes. No one wants to sit on the same bench that your nasty, bare butt was sitting on. But walking around at the beach? Sitting in the sand? Who cares?

It's a lot like masks. Do whatever you want in your own home, but don't be throwing your germs at me on the bus. And in an outdoor environment, as long as you're not sticking your bare face or bare ass right up in my business, I really don't care what you're wearing.

I vaguely remember from the last time this got posted about that it's because it's part of or an extension of the lewd behavior law, hence the "up to" part of the penalty.  I doubt some middle aged woman from Nantucket is getting thrown in the clink for three years.  That's more for some creeper flashing unsuspecting citizens on the street.

What if you're taking photos of your own family and there's an underager in the background?

It is inevitable that it will end up in court.  The only question is whether the taker of the photo is a perv trying to hide behind a technicality or an innocent person being hanged by one.

When Bali was a Dutch colony they had it both ways.

Girls went topless until they got married.

So clearly they found breasts sexually attractive.

Then they joined Indonesia, and the practise was forbidden.

Dutch anthropologists took a lot of pictures, and by a lot, I mean, you know...

Some of them are on Pinterest. Though I don't know if they're legal. So keep that in mind.

That will be an interesting test case for CP laws.

You know there will be some Conservative judge whose written opinion will be, "I know CP when I see it!"

/Though, being Conservative, he'll be mad because the girl(s) in the photos are 17, not 7.
