ArkAngel: Can you believe these guys? Because I Kant

As an insufferable philosophy major, I once wrote a paper titled, "Why I Kan't Do what Kant Tells Me to."

As an insufferable adult, I'd like to say that Kant is even more insufferable than I am.

I don't know anything about philosophy, but I know what I like, and it's not corporations.

Dont know why you added the silly face at the end because its depressingly true. Walmart is why so much is spent on medicaid, food stamps and police budgets

Think of it as more of a sarcastic snarky face.

It's easy to be "ethical" on a full stomach.

It's even easier to be "ethical" when you can afford a PR department and a stable full of lawyers to explain why things are "ethical".

When you steal from a bodega, you're stealing from one or two people, maybe a family.

When you steal from a faceless corporation, like Walmart, you're actually stealing from millions of shareholders all over the world.

If you were to get caught, which owners would you rather have taking turns to kick your ass?

When Abbie Hoffman's "Steal this Book" came out, there was a palpable wave of theft throughout my generation.  I don't think it did anyone any good.  Plenty of small business owners were victimized.

I think what happened to me is that I realized that most  businesses are unethical--dishonest, bad for the planet, treat their help like scum--so now it's unethical for me to buy anything, or to work for any of them.  I don't steal from them, because that gives them power over me, if they catch me.  I just ignore them entirely.
I just removed myself from society, from disgust.
so far, so good.  I might have to get a job again someday.

I recently read a book about loss prevention at a Walmart. It wasn't well written, but there were some amazing tales!

Stealing is always wrong. But, there are often times when it should be forgiven.
