Authorities believe the former agent - believed to be from Texas - was one of at least six individuals who regularly communicated with accused gunman Payton Gendron in an online chat room where racist hatred was discussed, the two officials said.

Of course he was.

Maybe this should've been investigated earlier, eh?

I mean, those alleged actions are within what police officers and you conservatives do a lot: Allow shootings to happen if minorities are the target.

"The New York Times reported May 17 that Gendron invited a small group of people into a private chat room on the messaging platform Discord to review his plan about 30 minutes before the massacre at Tops."

These people were consultants. And should be approached as such....

Buffalo civil rights attorney John V. Elmore said it will be outrageous if it turns out that a former law enforcement officer had advance notice of the shooting and did nothing to prevent it.

"It's simply unfathomable that our law enforcement agencies are infested with bigoted parasites!"

Follow up story about how a former LE agent has been spending his retirement in racist chat rooms to monitor subversive people who just happened to not be on his computer until after the shooting started

Don't worry, it's ok for agents to lie to the FBI.

https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/26/politics/larry-nassar-agents-fbi-justice-department-declines-charges/index.html

"The inspector general found the agents lied to investigators, but the Justice Department during the Trump administration and again early in Biden administration declined to bring charges."

If the FBI doesn't care to protect white girls, then what do you expect them to do to stop the murder of PoC?

Strange how this kind of story is all conjecture or speculation but a Black kid gets shot the same Farkers will be sharing all types of stories about how he was a thug

Or how a shooter was actually a left winger because he has a Democratic friend on Facebook

The FBI itself has been complicit in that regard. They act like they've been warning the public, when in reality, they've been sitting on their asses and doing nothing about it.

I know it's a different era, but if they could go after Fred Hampton, they can crush Cletus Confederate in ten seconds flat if they wanted.

I feel weird about my eyes sorta skipping over "Buffalo" in the headline and thinking this was about Uvalde.

Can't even keep these things straight anymore when they are explicitly called out up-front, because they're happening so often now.

2022-05-27 11:32:16 AM
Well, ok, but we already knew about the online stuff. And being invited to a Discord chat or doc sharing (the article isn't really clear) doesn't mean someone actually was present in the chat or viewed the docs - presumably they have more evidence to collect that would show that. So the one new piece of information is that one of the people he communicated with may have been a former gov't agent, which is not particularly surprising given what we know of the history of those agencies.

The article quotes extensively the shooter's admiration for someone called "Sandman" or "The Sandman" who parrots some of the Prouder Boys' white-supremacist nonsense and yaps about keeping your mind and body strong, as well as advice on what kind of AR-style weapon to buy.

I wouldn't be surprised at all.

There are people who are JUBILANT that the murders in Buffalo and Uvalde happened. They are farking ecstatic about it and don't want it to stop.

It's why so many of them stockpile guns and ammo. For the race war they want to participate in. They talk about it all the time. It's like porn to them. They want it to happen. They hoped Ex-President Useless farkwad would get the ball rolling on that. They interpreted, and still do, his "suggestions" about "exercising" their 2nd Amendment rights.

This is what they want.

The boy traveled nearly 200 miles to murder in Buffalo.
How did he pick the spot?

I kinda doubt it.  The "keeping you mind and body strong" line doesn't sound like anything from Gaiman's Sandman, the comic book Sandman predates Gaiman, and the term is in wide cultural use outside the comic book reference.  I would bet a couple bucks on this usage being derived from the Logan's Run movie, just 'cause I knew some guys who liked to run around with toy guns playing "Sandman."

You got a point there.

And all but one of the victims were over thirty.

Authorities believe the former agent - believed to be from Texas -

I'm concerned that we now have a trifecta of "Texas cops not doing anything to stop mass murder" in play.

I wonder whether he retired due to age, or because he was fired for his beliefs.

It could in theory be the latter.

At this point, It just goes to reinforce the idea that at some level, there's a group of people that actively want these kinds of things to happen and work to encourage and promote the behavior, not just passively enable it.

If you count all the times that the shooters were either reported or already known to police ahead of time and the police did absolutely jack shiat about it, we're well past a trifecta.

We're into "police actively disregarding threats and doing nothing to follow up on or at all impact in any way the possibility that an event like this might happen" territory.
