The automation system for commercials is real. However, if your newscast is going to go over the normal alotted time, you're supposed to switch to manual to keep that from happening.

The top rated station in the 5th largest media market in the country should know that.

WFAA frequently let their sports director, Dale Hanson, run lengthy editorials with a very liberal bend.

This is one that is most likely incompetence over malice.

From TFA:

The explanation satisfied Kimmel, who tweeted in response, "I've known the staff at @wfaa personally and professionally for almost 20 years and believe this mistake was made unintentionally. Thanks for reposting and for correcting this error. Sending love to all my friends in Texas."

Sometimes shiat like that gets forgotten when they're dealing with a story about a double-digit massacre at an elementary school

By all means, let's ignore the fact this was unintentional, Kimmel agrees it was, and get right to berating an entire state of 30 million people because 25% or so of them vote the way we don't like.  Because that's anti-bigotry.

Even if there was intentional censorship, it Barbra Streisanded spectacularly in their faces.

Story's over. Nothing more to see here. Move along.

Seeing how the same station spun Beto's interuption of Abbott and Cruz's little dog and pony show might reveal their real politics, one way or the other.

Too bad we are still living in 1950's and there are no other methods to consume content.

When you call someone/something stupid on the internet, it's more effective if you spell all your words correctly.

It never fails to amuse me how aggressively conservatives push their message of THERE IS NO PROBLEM, LET'S MOVE ON, LEAVE THE GUNS ALONE after each and every mass shooting.

How long until the next one, do we think? This weekend? Today?

Or how liberals push the gun is the problem narrative.  A gun was used as a tool to murder innocent people.  The gun didn't float in and do it on its own.  The kid was unstable and did this.

I firmly believe in thorough background checks and vetting people.  As a trainer and competitive shooter I have an enhanced concealed permit.  That requires FBI approval.

By the way Jimmy Kimmel should have been cancelled because of the Man Show and how they objectified women.  Instead he tilts left and is celebrated.

So by your own math, at least 75% (or so) of them are stupid. Bigotry is when you hate someone for no reason. Stupidity is a good reason.

So rerun it tonight - with an announcement that they're doing that so people can watch it - and listen in amusement as Texas comes up with an even more bullshiat excuse when they have 'technical errors' again.

Somehow I don't think that he would have managed to kill dozens of people unimpeded with a knife, but hey. Lube up that barrel however you deem fit.

So do what the rest of us do: go to the D'aww tab, find a tweet about some cute puppies taking a bath, and shoehorn an edgy partisan insult into the thread. It will make you feel better.

Is that what bigotry means?

big·ot·ry
/ˈbiɡətrē/

noun
obstinate or unreasonable attachment to a belief, opinion, or faction; in particular, prejudice against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group.

Sure seems like 100% of the Farkers called Michael J Faux are stupid. Stop hating yourself, Michael. Stop hating yourself.

i'm constantly shocked that not a single parent of any of the kids killed doesn't attack the politicians that block the gun reform.  i'm not saying they should, just that i'm amazed it doesn't happen, constantly.

Ronald Reagan himself was all for making sure weapons of war stayed out of the hands of common, ordinary citizens.  He was perfectly good with weapons for hunting, sporting, or home defense, and stated an AK-47 didn't qualify as one.

Of course he said this after he'd left office.

Another thing thay bothers me about Texas is how they all decided to talk like assholes.

Now, I'm generally prejudiced against the Southern drawls, but Texas/Oklahoma regional accent grates on my nerves like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Was there the same craze to buy semi-automatic weapons back in his day? I feel like that's something that started up in the late 80s with militias and disaster preppers building their private arsenals, and the bullshiat "home defense" rationalization for average buyers didn't start getting floated around until the 2000s.

But I'm not a gun enthusiast, so I don't claim any solid knowledge of how the culture led to where we're at now.
