The uploader could've warned us that the video would skip through their set list, and the song wouldn't remain the same.

No Autotune. No effects. Plant's voice just sounds amazing. And the guitar tone... holy shiat.

Yup, this is probably about as good as Led Zeppelin ever got live.  They got increasingly sloppy in concert as time went along.  But, yeah, at their height...holy shiat.

I remember when the audio version of this popped up accidentally.  Guy thought he was sharing a personal recording of the known show from the afternoon, but as folks started listening to it, they're like, "Hey, wait a second."

This is definitely a Holy Grail.

Page is (was) a phenomenal guitarist but I always thought he was shiate live with Zep. But I love him on the Page/Plant dvd.
And yes, Robert's hair was in its prime along with the pirate beard.

Surprisingly good quality. It had to be someone the band knew to get away with being on the edge of the stage.

Sorry, just can't stand Plant's voice when it goes screechy/falsetto.  The Rock & Roll version of Gilbert Gottfried.

YMMV

For sheer output of great albums full of great songs, Steely Dan were the best American band of all time probably - IF you call Becker/Fagen a band (SD wasn't a band, per se, after about 1974.)

You're right about that - my knowledge of Steely Dan is limited to Reelin' in the Years and Rikki Don't Lose That Number. But I find those songs so awful that I've maintained a blissful ignorance of the rest of their catalog.

I say "I find" purposefully there - you do you, too. I'm very happy for you that you enjoy the Dan.

My friend Mike taped everyone you'd ever dream of in the 60's and 70's.  He was very protective of his film and never released any of it.  He died in 2005, his estate went to his surviving mother, who is surely dead now.

I hope that his film and tape were well labeled and preserved, because he sat on a goddamned treasure chest.  I will always wonder.

It is common knowledge to L.A. studio musicians that if you have played on a Steely Dan track, you have " made it "

Yeah, I have always had trouble calling them a 'band', since they weren't really one after their first few albums.

Still one of my favorite discographies, just can't put them in discussion of 'best band', a la LZ, Allmans, Who, Grateful Dead, etc.
