Well, and Cassian **Andor's**. Either way, shut up and take my money, through September and October.

An adult centric "Rebels" with out the Wolf fursona of Filoni.

I'm okay with that. Especially if they introduce the utter madness of Saw Guerrera.

The best part of Rogue One was the ragtag crew, but we won't be seeing much of any of them here. Still, might be interesting. At least they're not on Tatooine again

Fun fact: When the MCU does its Secret Wars crossover in 2025, the battle planet is going to be Tatooine.

I've lost all my faith in modern filmic storytelling. Hollywood et al. has been hijacked by car-ad directors who have never read a story let alone a book. If you gave them The Clouds, they would spend the afternoon trying to figure out how to cut the Chorus and how many lens flares they would need.

I have high hopes for Andor, but after that coruscant-sized shiat pinched off as The Book of Boba Fett, I'm just assuming the worst.

There's the Obi-Wan series starting in about 6 hours between the other two...

It's going to have the Tudyk-droid, it's going to have Imperials living fat on oppressed systems that sit loosely in Moff Tarkins veiled fist. It's rebs vs Imps in urban warfare, which Rogue One had some of the best Star Wars action since the teddy bear picnic on Endor happened in Rogue One.

It looks like a Tom Clancy novel set in Star Wars. All I need to hear is "Knife this is variable, over." With actual death and consequences. Even if we know the ultimate outcome the journey looks interesting.

Same there.

There is the Filoni/Favreau understanding of that distant galaxy.

And then there's the jackass who gave the Tatooine Little Rascals four matching, different colored speeders.

My feminist brain is disappointed that they had to sex up Mon Mothma. She always had the heavenly grandmother/protector aura around her, even in her younger days in Clone Wars. She was always cool, calm, collected and no-nonsense, like the grandmother who was always a sweetheart to you but you knew was an awesome badass in her own way. To make her "sexy" kinda ruins that for me...in that it kinda turns me on.

One thing that bugs me about new Star Wars (amongst many) is how diverse they make the Empire.
There's a reason it was comprised of pale-skinned British snobs.

I still don't know what this is, but the people who love Star Wars but hate light sabers seem to want it the most.  If Rogue One was the best Star Wars movie (assuming you delete Vader from the ending), then this is for you?

Hopefully someone explains it sooner or later.

Did everyone forget that whole "Long, long ago" part in the opening crawl?  Star Wars took its cues from ancient history.  The entire original trilogy is a parallel to the rise & fall of the Roman Empire, and the Romans were, in fact, a rather diverse lot.  If you want to see where the heart of Star Wars lies look at Europe from around 50 BC to around 800 AD... which, by the way, is before England even became a country.  Luke and his uncle are wearing a tunics through the entire first film.  Jedi robes come from samurai.

I find it amusing that there are still people out there who think that the Republic was some kind of democratic institution rather than was a loose confederacy of assorted monarchies that only had a senate to serve the same role as the United Nations.  The original script for A New Hope ended with "Leia is crowned queen of the galaxy."Heck, the official battle cry of the Mon Calamari was "For the King!"

The Star Wars universe is technologically advanced but culturally primitive.  Their gizmos may be a thousand years ahead of us but their society is a thousand years behind us. That's what separates it from stuff like Star Trek.

And by the way, I'd like to remind you that there were literally zero non-white members of the Rebel Alliance until Lando was forced into joining them at the end of the second film.  This was after the first film ended with the Rebels giving a gold medal to their blond haired, blue eyed hero in a scene ripped straight from Triumph of the Will.  And it wasn't until the third film that we see our first alien who isn't a villain.  So if you look past those Hugo Boss uniforms for even one minute it's pretty easy to see that things aren't as simple or binary as the morons over at Disney would like people to think.
