SpaceX launched a rocket today. It landed back at the launch site. It was pretty cool. There was no thread, but that's ok. I watched it by myself.

Back in the day, you'd drive by this V2 while passing Ft. Bliss in El Paso, with White Sands Missile Range just a conversation away.

Back then you could rent a surf board to surf the high dunes at White Sands national park.

I used to work at White Sands.  It is a really cool place.  But you can get super lost if you go wandering around.  The landscape has no....it farks up your perception.  It's really hilly but you can't tell, because everything is just shining white.  You turn around and you can't see a thing except the hill you just walked down and didn't realize it.
A guy got lost  while I was there.  But he was fine overnight, and they found him the next morning.

natazha: I'm still looking forward to a Dragon making a Super-Draco landing on dry land.  NASA refused to allow them, but who knows.

Won't happen.  SpaceX is done building Dragons- they'll refurbish them as needed but there aren't any more in the pipeline.  SpaceX is putting all their efforts into Starship.

Probably because NASA trusted parachutes more.
