So a company which deals with an alternative currency wants to have an IPO, such that its investors can convert their equity into stock, which they can then sell for US Dollars.  If the founders and investors want to cash out into USD, tell me again the value of crypto?

It's worth precisely what you can con some poor schmuck into paying for it.

OK, Boomers.  More FUD from the geezers who don't understand that the value of crypto is in converting dollars into crypto, which goes up because everyone in El Salvador uses the crypto, and then you sell the crypto to someone for their dollars because they don't accept crypto at the Lambo dealership.

It's called "velocity of Lambo money."

Well, given the unregulated nature of crypto, it allows the unscrupulous rich to bilk crypto 'investors' at levels the rich could only dream of on the regular stock markets, which is at least supposed to be regulated.

That isn't much of a selling point to me, personally.

I've been assured by crypto pushers that since history shows all fiat currencies will eventually fail,
crypto is the answer. That is because unlike fiat currency, Unregulated Crypto is perfect, and NEVER fails!!!

I'm only investing in the most stable stable coins right now.  I don't invest in unstable stablecoins.  Just the stablest stablecoins.

Then do I have a coin for you....just ignore the $10 billion in withdrawn assets over the last two days...and people running for the exit like the building was on fire.

Whenever I read about the purpose and function behind stablecoins, I think of this xkcd comic:

Stable stablecoins?

So you mean flattened discs of shiat collected from horse stables, right?

If so, it's way better than database entries backed by nothing.
