Jailed in the UK for committing financial crimes?  He was doing it all wrong.  Financial crimes are what the UK was practically invented for.

doesn't work when you're johnny foreigner.  they like your money as long as you don't do too many war crimes, but as soon as you run out, all bets are off

they still hold a grudge against the huns too
