Dude saved many many restaurants from going under with his show. I don't like his personality but having been in the industry I'll tip my hat to him.  Guy did good

He had some creative ways to keep pumping out new content during lockdown, seemed like the only one left out there.

That article was slamming with flavor.

He really doesn't bother me anymore.

And I hated the farker.

Now meh I don't care for his act, but hell he's been a good person

Don't mind him, I never really learn anything about cooking from any of his shows..but then again, you don't learn anything on Food Network unless it's Alton Brown

Yeah, he featured a brewpub I used to work at on DD&D. That placed sucked, but he managed to put a positive spin on it. I wasn't working that day, but all my coworkers who were had nothing but good things to say about him (and these people were relentlessly negative). So good for him and what he's done.

I can't really good on him any more...since he spent his time and money feeding firefighters in California during that awful forest fire situation.

/But I might break that promise and occasionally make a joke about how he looks like a roadie for Smashmouth.

I never understood the hate.   I love watching DDD.   I wish I had a Star Trek replicator and could sample every dish on that show.  Guy's Grocery Games is a little silly for a cooking competition, but I still enjoy it.

Really?  If you pay attention you can learn a lot..  I have anyway...  not that I'm ever gonna cook a 20 lb pork butt..  but I definitely picked up lots of tips over the years.

Brown is a pretentious pedantic douchebag who overcompensates for not being a Yalie.

Guy and his wife have raised his nephew since Guy's sister died of melanoma in 2011.  Nephew just graduated college.

Linky

Don't get me wrong, I 100% would have done the same for my brother's kids if there was a need and thank goodness there wasn't, still respectable.

What's with the dreaded "Murica" tag. Hero tag too busy eating food at local diners? Isn't 'Murica usually used for gun nuts, conspiracy theorists, et al.? Bad subby, bad!

Agreed. I don't think I could be cajoled to dine in one of his restaurants*, but he seems like a legitimately good and well-meaning person. He seems to spend a lot of time/energy promoting the restaurants and chefs that appear on his shows and has a lot of care for workers.

*The wife was within shouting distance of one of his joints a few years ago. I was unable to convince her to go in and buy some Donkey Sauce, which I assume he sells with impunity.

Wow, didn't know that.

We were watching a GGG episode recently where his two sons and nephew were teamed up with celebrity chefs and his wife and parents were the judges.  Pretty great episode.  Guy can be a bit too much "bro" at times but we enjoy his shows and he gives back to the community it seems so good on him.

Guy Fieri is one of the few whose standing among the Fark cognoscenti has risen pretty consistently after being shat on for so long
