TFA uses the phrase "uncanny valley" um... no. how about no? does no work for you. that is such a bizarre misuse of the words, and makes my eye twitch.

this could be either Mandela Effect, or more likely they just changed up the ingredients. companies are always doing that to add pennies to margins here and there. if they'd kept the pizza on their menu and slowly updated ingredents over the years, people likely wouldn't even notice.

I've never even had their pizza, more's the pity. so I wouldn't be able to tell, obvs.
but I'm guessing they cheaped out on more than a few things and the new one is crizappier than ever.

The green onion and olive cuts are due to salmonella scares

Everything at Taco Bell has changed for the worse last several years.  Maybe it's just my area, but it doesn't seem to be a fluke to a particular location.

Damn, I still remember how it was made from years ago.  Would have to watch and see if it's the same.  The tortillas were called "die cuts"  there were thin and uncooked when shipped  (something like that can be purchased at Wal-marts).  There was a special basket that held a few in separate slots.  They were fried and left under a heat lamp.   One would be spread with beans and the taco beef.  The other goes on top and got a special sauce, both cheeses and then olives.  It went into a steaming ox that also was used for the mexi-melts.

If either the in store frying or the steamer has changed then it won't have the same taste and texture.

I knew what you meant, but the visual of them jamming Mexican pizza into a steaming ox already full of maxi-melts... it's like some Hunter Thompson-demented 3am edition of turducken
