It's a compelling defense, in'nit?

I'm confused, did any Republican submit enough legitimate signatures to be on the ballot for governor?

From a different FA

"If the bureau's reviews hold, five of the 10 candidates who submitted signatures to run for governor wouldn't make the ballot."

AlgaeRancher: Lock em up

They face absolutely zero consequences -- the people who they paid to "obtain" the signatures does.

And therefore, they'll just keep doing it, over and over and over again, until consequences happen.

It's hard to doubt the heroism of someone who would save a village by burning it to the ground, drop a bomb on it, salt the earth, bomb it again, and then shoot off fireworks over the crater.

It's almost as if people breaking the law with impunity only seems to encourage other people to break the law with impunity.

But this year, those professionals are feeling the same pressure felt in the rest of the economy: A lack of seasoned workers in Michigan has raised the cost of signature gathering up to $20 apiece - four times the rate of $5 to $7 per signature Ferndale businessman Shawn Wilmoth charged four years ago.

I didn't know this was a thing. $20 per signature? Someone has a lot of relatives working for them.

You have to commit fraud, to know fraud.

Or something like that.

2022-05-23 11:38:28 PM
This is crazy but the fact that they have terms for the different kinds of petition fraud shows that it's a common practice. Round tabling? Sounds like a sex act on urbandictionary

So ingrained that opposing candidates hire the same guys to "circulate petitions?"

It seems like a silly rule they could easily do away with instead of pretending it matters.
It really comes off as a way to keep certain people off of the ballot.

All conservatives are subhuman filth. Always have been, always will be. Oh, I'm sorry, are you getting tired of hearing a broken record?  Try cleaning up your own act, you subhuman filth.

The ultimate decision on the candidates' qualifications for office is up to the Michigan Board of State Canvassers, which is made up of two Democrats and two Republicans and is set to meet Thursday.

Gee whiz I wonder how that'll work out!

EVERY gnikraf accusation.

$10 says they'll be allowed on the ballot anyway. Half the Board of State Canvassers have probably already been doxxed and have received threats about keeping their guy off the ballot.

The Board will do something like give them 30 days to gather enough legit signatures, and they'll do that. No harm, no foul.

Laws are for those people.

Done on purpose and reported to the media to keep democrat news out of the headlines in the months leading up to the general election

Republicans do not care about election fraud.

They never have.

Figure it out.

It's all pointless. They're not going to beat Whitmer. I mean, there aren't enough coontservatives left in the small villages and towns to balance out the massive number of voters in the cities. The MAGA sorts spent the last couple years killing themselves off and getting themselves arrested. And Dems outnumbered them before all that. We've also got four years' worth of new Zoomer voters filling the ranks, and four years' worth of deceased Silents and Boomers vacating them.

Whitmer will handily win unless the GOP cheats, which they will, but I mean effectively.  As we've seen, they're a dumb bunch and will likely not be able to pull off any of their tricks with Dana Nessel watching.

God I hope you're right. There's so much MAGA in my suburbs I'm not so confident.

The fact that there are professionals who do it isn't the problem, any more than paid pollsters are...this is just old-fashioned straight-up corruption.

Professional gatherers don't do that, because they'd like to work the NEXT election cycle.

(sh*t, $20 a signature, I might do that work...I did it for free, back in the day...it's literally just talking to people)

Now, you can indeed argue the whole "you need x signatures to get on the ballot" is an arbitrary standard that only serves to retain political control by the two leading parties, and I wouldn't disagree.

2022-05-24 9:55:59 AM
This will then be used to say "look, election fraud is widespread, we need to crack down on blah people voting!" by Republicans, of course.

Proof of organized voter fraud by Republicans, thread only got to 30 posts so far.

Did the multiple signatures by I.C. Weiner and Phil McCracken give it away?

America really needs to step up its false name game.

Plenty of Maga around the Detroit suburbs too :(
