I thought there already was a biopic about Elvis.

As a Gen Xer, I remember when Elvis was supposedly cool as hell, the apex of which was perhaps his appearances in True Romance.

I thought it was kind of embarassing back then. Now, no one gives a shiat about Elvis.

Spinal Tap visits Elvis' grave.

This scene wasn't actually shot at Graceland, if you want your faith in humanity destroyed, and these were not members of an actual band.

You, on the other hand should continue to post your 'thoughts' and 'opinions' as valuable as they are everywhere, because how else will the world be saved from this monstrosity, other than, you know, not going to see it and warning us all?

Thank you! A thousand times, THANK YOU!

I have never enjoyed a bio-pic. Mostly because I'm not into biographies and don't read or watch them.

I'm a millennial. I grew up listening to over produced crap music, wondering why almost none of it was anywhere near as good as most things before the 80s.

Strictly Ballroom came out in 1992 and even though I was very young, I new it was different and interesting in a very good way.I first became aware of Elvis around the same time and even though he was largely spoken of in jokes at the time, when I actually listened to his music was captivated by his talent

I look forward to seeing this movie

He's made 5 movies.  All high awarded. There are people who have made 30 movies and had only one movie that acclimated.

Okay, Mr. Hanks, Mr. Luhrman, you heard it. Shut it down. Some rando on the internet doesn't like your movie and people can't like something he doesn't.

You're so brave.

Val Kilmer on the edge of this world and you're all you say what? Elvis the Pelvis?
Well, I say:
If what you've just written was something you said in one in three universes across their infinite expanse...
You'd wind up with a fat lip.
A wry, crooked lip

Saw the trailer during the NBA last night...with the TV on mute but closed captioning.
Thought it was a parody or farce. It was  hilarious. No bombast music or voice over or dialogue and it was a riot.
Fav was the shot of Omt Anksh as the Col. looking nefarious with the cigar in the elevator.
Muted sound really made those prosthetics shine.
This is a can't miss summer event.

Soooo... this is great and all... the trailer looks pretty good. Are they going to address the underaged elephant in the room?  Or will all that be sorta glossed over?

People seem to either love or hate Luhrmann's stuff.  I'm in the former camp, but I can understand why people don't.  I'm also still mad that there wasn't another season of The Get Down on Netflix.

I like Baz Luhrmann's movies, and this looks like it's not your usual paint by numbers biopic. I'm in.

Will there be a different ending?  Will Elvis not die on the toilet?  Does he have superpowers this time around?  I don't want this to be just another remake. How boring...

Some of me wants to watch this just because I'll need to watch/rewatch a bunch of musician biopics in order to properly understand the upcoming parody of them "WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story."

/I have Walk the Line in DVD and need to actually watch it.

They'll probably pretend it never happened, just like everyone else since it first happened.

This is going to annoy a whole lot of boomers. I'm a boomer and looking forward to it. Baz Luhrmann can be over the top, but this is Elvis and Col. Parker, they invented over the top.

Will this include the evil anti-Elvis or will that be in the sequel?

2022-05-24 12:50:41 PM
That is not the Elvis described by his own body gaurd in his own book.
That is not looking like the Elvis that we will see carry a revolve everywhere he goes, but on demand of his bodyguard leave the first chamber empty.
Doing that prevented Elvis from becoming a murderer on more than one occasion when the gun went click instead of boom.

This don't seem like the Elvis that's gonna stop his limo in the middle of the desert to show  his entourage that he can move clouds with his mind.

And this don't look like the Elvis that believes he has god granted healing powers to lay hands on and tries ot mend a bodyguards broken leg, but really just makes the guy suffer the agony of him manipulating his broken bone while he plays along with it.

let me know when they make the film about that Elvis.

I'd like one where he made a deal with Satan.
Wait. There's a movie like that, but not Elvis.  But I can't think of the name.
