Queue food vendors setting up food trucks and carts near the airports that all sell at grossly inflated prices that they'll use as comparables for setting 'street price'

$26.99 then?

Dasher McHappenstance: $26.99 then?

This is the US, so don't forget to add the various sales, state, federal, and farkyou taxes on top of that. Oh, and don't forget to tip.

This rule has been in place for decades at PHL, and it hasn't stopped vendors from overcharging.

This sounds like Godless Sooshilismz. Or Communism. Overcharging is protecting America's freedumz.

Perhaps just skip the $27 beer at 8:30AM.  Or just get drunk at home and take a taxi to the airport.

Don't be foolish. The ball fondlers keeping us all safe from ooga-booga threats might get the wrong idea.

Why do they hate the Free Market?

I haven't flown since the before times, but always bought my way into one of the lounges. Not a great selection of booze, but you just help yourself.

Bloody Marys still 18.00 or 24.50 with the extra shot. And that's for well.

The wife, kid, and I flew from IAD to LAX over 4th of July last year, just as Delta was kicking off.

The guy at the bar outside our gate hooked me up with a few drinks because he overheard my wife and I talking about the amount of edibles I had consumed as we were walking though TSA.

Once on the airplane, the flight attendants LOVED (mostly) high-me and hooked the wife and I up with the nice bottles of wine from 1st Class.

More or less worked out the same on the way back home.

I have used the lounges in the past, but a lot of them have (in the past at least) bared children from them, even if you are willing to pay.

I know...CSB...

I've never purchased alcohol in an airport or on a plane, don't see the point.  I did get a free drink once on a plane, back when you paid cash and drinks were $1.50.  The attendants were short on change and I had a roll of quarters on me. I had been planning on making a long distance call from Puerto Rico, but ended up reversing the charge as it was $13 for three minutes. Mid-70s.

They will just overcharge for something else then. LaGuardia is the worst airport ever and I've spent a lot of time there. the floors are uneven. They took all the waiting seating out and replaced it with restaurant tables so we had people sitting on the floor. I witnessed a fight over the single available cell phone charger with 100 people waiting to use it. I saw an old lady in a chair crap her pants because the official wheelchair attendant would not come for 3 hours and we were not allowed to help her. Russia if you are listening, there is your first target.

All I see here is a warning that this summer the drunk flying a-holes will be drunkier.

I do not find La Guardia that bad after the terminal renovations. I do a lot of plane travel.   Now West Palm Beach....

I'm with subby, I like being price-gouged whenever I'm stuck in an airport during a 4-hour layover. Charge me as much as you like, I'm not going anywhere.

Charlotte is worse. Phoenix is also in competition.

If you're not already drunk for an 8:30AM flight do you really drink to begin with? The only question is what time does Wendy's start serving Baconators?
